2 Cases of Dog Bites This Week in Tamarac Crime

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime through March 8, 2021.

Animal Bite

5400 block of NW 26th Way – Tamarac Lakes North

On March 6, a large Pitbull (Bred) dog attacked a small breed dog. The owner of the Pitbull, along with the owner of the small dog, received injuries while attempting to remove the Pitbull from attacking the small dog.

7700 block of NW 78th Ave

On March 6, a female lost control of her Boxer/Pitbull mix and attacked another dog Lab/Pitbull mix being walked by its male owner. The male was bitten on the hands and arm while trying to separate the two dogs. The male refused transport to the hospital and both dogs sustained injuries.

Auto Theft

8200 block of NW 61st St – Fairway of Tamarac

On March 5, a vehicle was last seen in an assigned parking spot at approximately 5:30 p.m. and was discovered missing at approximately 9:00 a.m. The victim is current on payments and had both sets of keys in her possession.

8301 W Commercial Blvd – Comfort Suites

On March 6, an unknown subject punched out the door lock cylinder and gained entry into the truck, at which point they removed the ignition switch and attempted to hotwire the vehicle.

Battery

8300 block of Santa Monica Ave – Santa Monica Townhomes

On March 7, the victim advised the female smacked and scratched him on his arm during a verbal argument while heading home from a bar. Once home, the victim started getting ready for bed when he heard a noise coming from downstairs and saw a female throwing away his medication. Another verbal argument ensued, and she was told to leave the house. When she refused, the victim contacted the police. The victim did not want the individual arrested and want her removed from the home. She left before the police arrived on the scene. The female does not reside in the home, and they have no children in common.

Burglary Conveyance

7300 block of NW 58th Ct – Mainlands 9

On March 4, reported unknown suspect(s) burglarized the vehicle for an approximate loss of $3.00.

3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS

On March 4, the victim had stopped at the CVS Pharmacy when an unknown subject shattered the front passenger side front window and stole the victim’s laptop bag contacting valuables. Tot. Est. Loss: $4,650.

6005 N University Dr

On March 5, the victim reported a burglary to her Buick SUV while she was working. The vehicle was locked, and there was evidence of forced entry. The point of entry was through the passenger door window. The suspect (s) stole various items, including a backpack, a Gucci purse, and cash, among other things. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,054.

Burglary Home

4700 block of Mainland Dr – Mainlands

On March 5, the victim was at home when a male subject attempted to force entry through the rear slider. The victim contacted law enforcement approximately 5 hours after the incident.

Criminal Mischief

4440 block of Treehouse Ln – Arbor Keys

On March 5, the victim’s vehicle was vandalized at the residence by a known subject. The victim has begun the restraining order process to gain a solution. The subject is known to loiter or cause property damage. No evidence was collected to verify the suspect.

4980 N State Road 7 – Metro By T-mobile

On March 5, a known male suspect broke down the door after attempting to access his T-Mobile account to buy a new phone. T-Mobile was unable to access his account after not having an ID.

Domestic Disturbance

4500 block of NW 16th Ter – Tamarac Lakes

On March 5, an on-going verbal abuse between husband and wife.

6401 N University Dr – Concord Village

On March 7, the suspect came to the apartment early in the morning and broke out the front window. He wanted money from the victim or their other car. He returned a couple of hours later, making the same demand for money or their other car. The victim has a restraining order to be served against him.

Information

6401 N University Dr – Concord Village

On March 3, BSO was dispatched to an apartment about possible harassment/stalking. The caller stated that he wanted to document that his 49-year-old son had threatened him; however, he was not scared of his son.

Property Damage

6600 block of NW 70th  Ave  – Tamarac Pointe Apartments

On March 3, a family dispute ended with damage to the front door

Runaway

NW 78th Ter

On March 6, the victim was last seen at her residence at approximately 2:00 a.m. on March 5.. Known to frequent the areas of Margate, Coral Springs, and Pompano Beach.

Theft

9400 block of NW 65th St – SpyGlass

On March 5, an unknown suspect(s) took a bag of tools from the victim’s driveway during his lunch hour that valued at $500.

2780 NW 55th Ct – Production Power & Air

On March 1, an unknown person/s crawled under a 2021 Ford F-550, used a Sawzall, and cut out a 5-foot section of the diesel exhaust converter valued at $6,000. The company had video surveillance; however, the cameras were not covering the parked truck.

7901 W Commercial Blvd – 7 Eleven

On March 2,  Tyler Fox, later identified as Trevor Fox, took various items from 7-11 with no intention to pay. Tot.Est.Loss: $23.

8790 W McNab Rd – Walgreens

On March 4, an unknown male suspect entered Walgreens and stole approximately $599.12 worth of electric toothbrushes. Tot. Est. Loss: $599.

3101 W Commercial Blvd – 7-Eleven

On March 5, an unknown male entered the 7-Eleven and picked up several items. The male then bypassed all points of sale, leaving the convenience store with a bag of merchandise.

7900 block of NW 96th Ter – Coral Vista

On March 5, an unknown suspect(s) stole all four tires and wheels from the victim’s 2019 Nissan Altima. The vehicle was positioned on four rocks. No entry was made to the vehicle. Tot. Est. Loss: $325.

5775 N University Dr – Sally’s Beauty Supply

On March 6,  an unknown male subject took 4-curling/flat irons from the business without paying for them and fled the area in a silver Nissan Altima.

Mcnair, Derek Daniel (B M, 29) was arrested on charges of Battery-cause Bodily Harm – Domestic Violence at 7344 Nw 75th St, Tamarac, on 03/02/2021.

Polite, Gerard (B M, 63) was arrested on Battery-on Person 65 Years Of Age Or Older charges at 5809 Nw 82nd Ter, Tamarac, on 03/02/2021.

Fox, Trevor Douglas (W M, 31) was arrested on Larc-petit Theft 2nd Degree 1st Offense charges at 7901 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 03/02/2021.

Landell, Hector (B M, 60) was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol at 6004 Nw 67th Ter, Tamarac, on 03/03/2021.

Simpson, Rasheed (B M, 18) was arrested on Battery-touch Or Strike charges at 6400 Commerical Blvd, Tamarac, on 03/04/2021.

Jones, Chasity Laquist (B F, 27) was arrested on Warrant-Petit Theft charges at 3800 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 03/05/2021.

Wellington, Clifford Eugene Running (I M, 39) was arrested on charges of Warrant – Trespass Other Struct at 7600 NW 57th St, Tamarac, on 03/07/2021.
