3 Vehicles Stolen in Tamarac in our Latest Crime Update

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through August 3.

Auto Theft

5800 block of NW 61st Ave – Bermuda Club

On July 28, a victim’s white 2020 Honda Accord Sport was stolen from the parking lot of his residence. Area canvased for video surveillance and witnesses with negative results. Auto Theft Affidavit signed. BOLO issued on the stolen vehicle.

8800 block of NW 78th Ct – Hidden Harbour

On July 28, a blue 2020 Honda Civic was stolen.

4900 block of NW 27th Ter – Tamarac Lakes South

On August 1, the victim advised that she left the only key she has for her vehicle inside of it while unlocked and parked in her driveway. Additional property inside the vehicle was reported stolen as well.

Battery

6100 block of Nw 57th St – Woodland Meadows

On July 28, a female scratched her boyfriend one time on the neck and threw a bottle at him. An altercation then escalated, female destroyed property inside the residence before leaving.

Burglary Conveyance

5900 block of N Pine Island Rd

On July 29, an unknown suspect opened two cars that were unlocked overnight. A bottle of water and a passport were stolen.

4900 block of E Sabal Palm Blvd – Lakes of Carriage Hills

On July 29, BSO met with the caller who advised an unknown subject broke into her vehicle and removed her driver-side airbag. Unknown when it occurred since she has not used the vehicle in two days.

8301 W Commercial Blvd – Comfort Suites

On August 1, a male and female friend rented a hotel room, and both parties said the other hit them against their will.

Burglary Residence

4700 block of NW 50th St

On July 29, the victim believes her residence was burglarized by an unknown “FPL” Hispanic male. The front door of the residence was left unlocked. Shoulder bag purse was taken from the residence.

Burglary with Assault or Battery

5700 block of NW 48th Way

On July 31, a burglary/battery occurred at the residence of the victim’s girlfriend. The suspect forced entry into the residence and then willfully and intentionally strike the victim. The victim was able to identify the suspect. A sworn statement was taken from the victim along with the victim’s girlfriend and her mother.

Criminal Mischief

7600 block of NW 79th Ave – Bonaire

On July 28, allegations of theft from prior business partner and vandalism to complaint’s vehicle.

8050 block of S Colony Cir – Versailles Gardens

On July 28, the victim reported an unknown subject threw several eggs at her 2017 Hyundai Elantra. She advised there were scratches on her front bumper, hood, and rear gas tank cover.

2800 block of W Prospect Rd

On July 30, the victim advised that someone used red spray paint to write “TAKE CARE YOUR CHILD DEVIL” on his landscaping trailer. No Surveillance available.

Drugs Narcotics Offenses

7400 block of NW 76th Ct

On July 28, a narcotics search warrant signed by the Honorable Judge Porth was executed. The defendant was arrested for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell Cannabis within 1,000 feet of a place of worship. The defendant was taken into custody for Possession of cannabis under 20 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Information

4017 W Commercial Blvd – 24 Hour Fitness

On July 30, the reporting person requested assistance while he posted a notice on the front door of the listed business, regarding the removal of the business assets.

7700 block of Southampton Ter – Kings Point

On August 1, a granddaughter documented that her grandparents are old and vulnerable and are being harassed by their old neighbors. The neighbors are realtors and are attempting to bribe the older couple into selling their old home to them.

Property Damage

7680 Nob Hill Rd

On July 28, the reporting person advised that the glass panel window was damaged due to a former employee unintentionally damaging it.

Retail Theft

3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On July 31, Dwayne Strickland was placed into custody for petit theft after he was observed concealing items totaling $40.11 and walking out of the store without paying for them.

3116 W Commercial Blvd – Winn Dixie

On August 1, the reporting person advised an unknown white male stole eight cans of beer on four separate occasions between yesterday and today. Surveillance collected.

3914 W Commercial Blvd

On August 1, an unknown female walked out of the store with a cart full of Red Bull and Monster drinks for a total loss of 339.58.

8199 N University Dr – Walgreens

On July 28, a male and a female suspect stole an unknown amount of items. Fled in a grey/green in color Kia Sorrento bearing unknown state tag on University.

Theft

6002 NW 69th Av

On July 29, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s license plate and decal from the victim’s motorcycle.

Theft All Other

5628 Rock Island Rd – Sun Vista Gardens

On July 28, sometime during the night hours, a tag was stolen from a vehicle in Sun Vista Gardens.

5804 NW 87th Way

On July 29, one unknown female removed an emerald gold ring from the victim in her residence. The item is a value of $800. Vitas Healthcare Hospice Company has been notified.

Arrests

Caines, Danielle N. (B F, 28) was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol at 6181 Nw 57th St, Tamarac, on 07/29/2020.

Morin, Richard Nickson (B M, 18) was arrested on charges of Carrying Concealed Weapon-firearm at 6800 N Pine Island Rd, Tamarac, on 07/29/2020.

Strickland, Dwayne Henry (W M, 53) was arrested on charges of Larc-petit Theft 2nd Degree 1st Offense at 3914 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 07/31/2020.
