Political Consulting Company Tied To Tamarac Commissioner Marlon Bolton Ran Campaign For North Lauderdale Commissioner

By Tom Lauder

Happy Feet Advertising, LLC, a political consulting company tied to Tamarac Commissioner Marlon Bolton, performed extensive campaign work for newly-elected North Lauderdale Commissioner Regina Martin, records show.

Campaign treasurer reports show Commissioner Martin paid $14,750 to Happy Feet during the 2020 election cycle. In fact, she paid Happy Feet nearly $1,000 more than Commissioner Bolton paid for similar campaign work.

Last week, REDBROWARD exposed Commissioner Bolton’s extensive ties to Happy Feet Advertising, LLC. According to State corporate records, Happy Feet Advertising LLC is owned by Trace N. Robinson. While the business paperwork shows a Margate address, Happy Feet Advertising’s mailing address is listed as P.O. Box 451711 Fort Lauderdale, FL 33345.

State records not only show businesses owned by Commissioner Bolton use the same post office box, but these same records also show Commissioner Bolton and Robinson are business partners.

Records list the two as owners of The Driven Project, Praise Experience Worldwide Outreach Church, and South Florida Theological Seminary, Inc. using the same post office box.

Last year, Trace Robinson created the Broward Vision PAC political committee. The address for the PAC is the same post office box used by Bolton.

Connecting the dots.

State of Florida campaign records shows Broward Vision PAC paid $1,400 to Exy Consultants, a corporation created under the Happy Feet Advertising LLC name by Robinson.

Exy Consultants also uses the same P.O. Box 451711 address as Marlon Bolton.

State business records also show Commissioners Bolton and Martin share a Tamarac address. Commissioner Martin owns House of Babydoll, a business located on Ann Lee Lane in Tamarac. Multiple records show this address is the current residence of Marlon Bolton.

How do Tamarac City Commissioner Marlon Bolton and North Lauderdale City Commissioner Regina Martin reside at the same residential address?

Election Night

REDBROWARD revealed Commissioner Bolton’s ties to The Tamarac Post, a public relations site operated by North Lauderdale Deputy Clerk Anthony Bonamy.

When Bonamy applied to become the North Lauderdale Deputy Clerk late last year, he listed Commissioner Bolton as a reference.

On November 19, 2020, Commissioner Martin was sworn into office, and her first official act was making a motion to hire Anthony Bonamy. North Lauderdale Commissioner Samson Boregelin seconded her motion and Commissioner Bolton spoke at the meeting — never disclosing he was a commissioner — and urged North Lauderdale leaders to hire Bonamy.

Was this a mere coincidence?

REDBROWARD obtained a video recorded by Commissioner Martin on election night as local media announced her victory. One man is heard gasping for air as he declares “Oh my God” several times. The man was Commissioner Bolton. Later in the video, Commissioner Martin receives a congratulatory hug from Commissioner Boregelin.

REDBROWARD asked Bolton about his role in Commissioner Martin’s campaign. He refused to answer any questions.

Why was Tamarac Commissioner Bolton at Regina Martin’s victory party? Did he discuss Anthony Bonamy with Commissioner Martin and Samson Boregelin before the November 19, 2020, North Lauderdale Commission meeting?

Residents of North Lauderdale and Tamarac deserve answers. Perhaps The Tamarac Post will cover this story?

Editor’s Note: What does it all mean?  Commissioner Bolton is Happy Feet Advertising. Which, according to the author, he is using campaign funds to pay himself. However, he didn’t disclose this fact, which is not following campaign laws.
