By Kevin Deutsch
Detectives on Thursday arrested a man they say set a fire that killed a Tamarac woman in December.
Laren Lenworth Emile, 31, of Lauderhill, is accused of killing Keera Brabham, 29, by setting her apartment at 7900 South Colony Circle ablaze on Dec. 26 around 3:30 a.m., according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. Brabham was found inside her scorched apartment, unit 203, and taken to an area hospital where doctors pronounced her dead, authorities said.
BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to investigate and spoke to witnesses and family members. Through their investigation, detectives said they determined Emile was responsible for Brabham’s homicide and the fire.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Emile and booked him into the BSO Main Jail on Thursday. Emile faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of arson.
Additional information about Emile’s arrest was not immediately made public Thursday.
