Jaheim Gouldbourne and Tristan Elijah Watson {BSO}
Two men were arrested, and a third is on the run in connection with an attempted armed burglary at an apartment complex in Tamarac.
According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies responded to a call of a burglary in progress on January 3 at the Nob Hill Apartment Complex located at 9905 Westwood Drive. The 911 caller told dispatchers that multiple individuals were banging on her front door and yelling for her to open it while she was inside the residence with her children.
Records indicate the victim later told deputies that she and her 11-year-old son observed the men through a peephole and a bedroom window. The child reported seeing one of the men holding what appeared to be a firearm that he had taken out of a red bag.
When deputies searched the area, they observed three individuals matching the caller’s description. Two were detained at the scene, while a third fled on foot, prompting deputies to establish a perimeter, deploy K-9 units, and request assistance from the Broward Sheriff’s Office helicopter unit.
Tristan Elijah Watson, 20, of Fort Lauderdale, was identified as one of the men detained. Jaheim Gouldbourne, 20, of North Lauderdale, was located and apprehended nearby after deputies said he had changed his clothing in an apparent attempt to avoid arrest.
During interviews, a third man detained denied involvement and told detectives that another individual, identified as “Lamar Pierce,” was the person allegedly carrying the firearm and banging on the front door while attempting to force entry. Records indicate that Pierce has not been arrested.
Watson told investigators he drove to the apartment complex with Gouldbourne and others, but said he waited in the parking lot and did not participate in any attempt to enter the residence.
Gouldbourne admitted that he and another man, who was later released without being charged, knocked on the door, but said he left when no one answered.
Watson and Gouldbourne were arrested and transported to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail.
