Battery, Burglary and Fraud in May 17 Tamarac Crime Update

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through May 17, 2021.

Auto Theft

Sabal Palm Blvd

On May 12, an 88-year-old female stated that between 8:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., someone stole her 2018 4 door Honda Accord.

NW 64th Ave

On May 14, the victim advised he had left his vehicle in his assigned parking spot the night before and at 6:30 a.m. found the vehicle missing.

Burglary Conveyance

Tamarac

On May 13, the complainant advised subject attempted to enter into her vehicle and provided video surveillance via Ring doorbell. 

Battery

W Commercial Blvd

On May 13, the victim stated that a verbal altercation with a coworker turned physical once the coworker punched the victim twice with a closed fist. 

Westwood Dr,

On May 13,  multiple subjects got into a verbal altercation that soon became physical. 

N Pine Island  Rd

On May 14,  an unknown suspect threw up on the victim while he was waiting in line at the McDonald’s. 

Criminal Mischief

Tamarac

On May 13, the offender used black spray paint to vandalize the victim’s door and then fled the scene. 

Sands Point Blvd

On May 12, BSO responded to Sands Point Blvd. On arrival, they were advised that three apartment doors and two vehicles were vandalized with paint and other liquid. 

Domestic Disturbance

S Colony Cir, Tamarac

On May 15, the caller advised that she was engaged in an altercation with her sister. A witness on the scene advised that nothing physical had occurred.

Fraud

NW 44th St

On May 11, the victim reported a rental scam that was conducted through FloridaHousingSearch.org. 

NW 73rd Ter

Between May 6 and May 11, the victim reported unknown person accessed her unemployment information and stole $1,000 from her unemployment account. 

NW 61st Ave 

On May 11, an unknown person(s) opened credit cards in the victim’s name. 

Tamarac

On May 14, the victim and translator wanted to document an unauthorized transaction online to wholesaleclub.com for the amount of $1,271.98. 

Information

Sands Point Blvd

On May 13, the reporting person wanted to report her nine-year-old missing after he spray-painted his neighbor’s doors and ran away. 

Robbery By Sudden Snatching

W Commercial Blvd

On May 13, reporting person advised she had an iPad for sale, and it was snatched out of her hands by the potential buyer. 

Missing Person

S Colony Cir

On May 14, the caller reported her child’s father missing because he hasn’t returned home since they had a verbal argument the morning prior.

Theft

Tamarac, FL

On May 14, a suspect asked to use the victim’s phone. The victim allowed the suspect to use it, and he handed the phone off to another suspect who fled the area on foot with the phone. Tot. Est. Loss: $650. 

Tamarac

On May 14,  an unknown subject entered and stole a large number of cosmetic products. Tot.Est.Loss: $325. 

Arrests

Langley, Mario Delano (B M, 42) arrested on charges of Crash Leave Scene W/o Giving Information at 5599 Rock Island Rd/w Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/11/2021. 

Lasky, Christopher Ross (W M, 39) was arrested on charges of Petit Theft at 8245 N Pine Island Rd, Tamarac, on 05/13/2021. 

Julien, Jean Rico (B M, 45) was arrested on charges of Attached Tag (license Plate) Not Assigned at 6400 Brookwood Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/14/2021.
