Blossom and Suki {Broward County Animal Care}
Two affectionate pets at Broward County Animal Care are searching for permanent homes and are ready to meet potential adopters.
Blossom, a 2-year-old spayed American Staffordshire terrier mix weighing 60 pounds, arrived at the shelter in March after she was reported abandoned. Animal Care officials said she was found tied to a shed in a backyard without food or water.
Despite her difficult past, Blossom has become a friendly and affectionate companion who enjoys cuddling with people. Shelter staff describes her as active and energetic, making her a good fit for a moderate- to active household.
Blossom has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and is ready to join a new family.
Also waiting for adoption is Suki, a 3-year-old spayed domestic shorthair cat weighing 6 pounds.
The petite tabby-and-white cat enjoys being petted and spending time with her feline roommate, Quill. According to shelter staff, Suki gets along well with other cats and could thrive in a home with another feline companion if introduced gradually.
Suki is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and can go home the same day she is adopted. Her adoption fee has been waived, with adopters only responsible for the required $25 Broward County pet registration fee.
Broward County Animal Care, located at 2400 SW 42nd St. in Fort Lauderdale, is open daily for pet adoptions from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
All pets adopted through the shelter are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters pay only the $25 Broward County registration tag fee.
