Broward County Commissioner Michael Udine’s Exciting December Updates

Wow!  It’s already December.  Where did the time go?

I would like to thank all of District 3 for the opportunity to work together to grow our community and create a bright future for years to come.  As I reflect on this past year, my team and I remember so many special events happening throughout the district that we all call home.  I was thankful to meet with and help residents and neighbors along the way.  In the coming year, I look forward to continuing to represent the Northwest Broward community’s priorities.

New Broward County Mayor

In November, Dale V.C. Holness was selected as Broward County’s first Caribbean American Mayor.  Mayor Holness represents District 9 on the County Commission, and with his selection as mayor, I know that he will highlight the needs of our diverse community.

I look forward to working with him and all of Broward’s elected officials, professional staff, volunteers, and residents to move Broward forward.

Tamarac Paws and Claus event

This month on December 14 I hope everyone will join us for the Tamarac Paws and Claus event.  I will be in attendance with Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, who will bring some deserving pups who are ready to find their forever home.  Broward County will be waiving all fees and includes vaccinations, microchipping, and pet licenses.  Please come by and who knows, maybe you will find an excellent pet for the holidays.  The event will also have contests for best dressed holiday hound, raffles, vendors, and of course, a photo with “Santa Paws”!  Join me and Clifford (my dog) for this great event.

New Parking Lot

Our office always strives to help the residents we represent, and I am proud that we were able to assist the City of North Lauderdale with much-needed funding for the construction of a new parking lot for the Community Garden and City Hall.  For years the lot has been used by patrons of both, but without the proper markings and paving, safety was an issue.  This item will make sure that the lot is improved so all residents can enjoy these community facilities.

I look forward to continuing to assist the different cities within District 3.

From myself, Stacey, Matt, David, Lexi, and of course, Clifford, we wish you a warm holiday season and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.

Staying connected with the residents of District 3 is a top priority for me. Every month, we hold office hours on the third Wednesday. I can be reached at MUdine@Broward.org or 954-357-7003.
