The Broward Sheriff’s Office Tamarac District Criminal Investigations Unit will host a Senior Safety Summit to educate older adults about scams and fraud targeting seniors in the community.
The free public event will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd.
According to BSO Tamarac, the summit will focus on current scams affecting seniors and provide practical safety strategies to help residents protect themselves. Topics include senior safety tips, scam prevention, information from the Area Agency on Aging, and details about the Broward County Property Appraiser’s Owner Alert Program.
Organizers encourage seniors and their families to attend and learn how to recognize and avoid fraudulent activity. The event will also provide attendees with an opportunity to engage directly with members of the Sheriff’s Office and ask questions about emerging crime trends.
