The burglar appeared to be looking for “Christina,” but that was just a way to determine if anyone was home.
Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing a video of a burglar who they say cut, climbed, and smashed his way into a North Lauderdale residence.
On January 2, at approximately 9:40 p.m, home surveillance video captured a subject knocking on the front door of a residence in the 8300 block of Southwest 19th Street asking for someone with the name Christina.
The homeowner explains the person he is asking for is not there, and the subject is then seen walking away, heading toward another individual who was waiting for him.
Detectives believe the same subjects then went to a nearby home, cut a patio motion sensor, and jumped the fence into the backyard.
A rear sliding glass door on the second story of the residence was shattered, and the master bedroom was ransacked. The subjects stole more than $2,000 worth of jewelry and the victim’s house key. One of the male subjects appears to be wearing sandals, socks, and black sweatpants.
