Michael Ahearn was raised in Broward County and is running for judge to give back to the community he loves. With a distinct style, Michael hopes to lead with a common-sense approach, making complicated legal issues understandable and transparent to all who enter his courtroom.

“In each case, you have a party who wins and one who loses,” Michael said, “I will be the type of judge who gives it to you straight and interprets the law in a way that’s black and white. Even if you’re dissatisfied with the ruling, it is important to me that all who enter the courtroom understand how I got there, based on the applicable law and facts of the case.” Through this approach, Michael will strive to treat every case in a way that is humble and understanding, while being fair and balanced.

Michael Ahearn brings over 20 years of legal experience to the judiciary. His first job after law school was with Sheppard and Leskar, where he was a litigation associate for three years. In 2001, Michael opened and founded his own practice—Michael G. Ahearn P.A.—a general practice law firm, where he focuses on elder/guardianship cases and the representation of children with special needs. Through this work, Michael guides families through the most challenging points in their lives and enjoys making a positive impact in our community.

Later, in 2005, Michael founded his third business, Ahearn Dispute Resolution (ADR) which has presided over thousands of matters in County Court as a Florida Supreme Court Mediator and Certified Arbitrator.

When elected, Michael hopes to make a difference in both the courtroom and the community. Previously, Michael served as President of the Emerald Society on five separate occasions and served as President of the Brian Piccolo Chapter of the National Football Foundation. Both charities provide scholarship opportunities to deserving high school students in Broward County.

Michael and his wife Megan have been married for twelve years and live in Wilton Manors with their four rescue dogs.

Tamarac, North Lauderdale, and Lauderhill residents can vote on Tuesday, November 8.
