Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac will host a free Sukkot Family Celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 30, with food, children’s activities, and a chance to take part in holiday traditions.
The event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 8100 N. University Drive. Activities in and around Chabad’s sukkah will include edible sukkah crafts, a moon bounce and an exotic reptile presentation by Native Village Rescue. Pizza and falafel will be served, and guests can shake the lulav and etrog.
“Sukkot is really a holiday about coming together,” said Rabbi Kopel Silberberg, the center’s director. “We all sit together under one sukkah, and the lulav and etrog represent different types of Jews coming together as one.”
Goldy Silberberg, the center’s co-director, said the celebration is designed for families with children but open to all ages.
“Whether you’re coming with young children, grandchildren or just coming on your own, everyone is welcome to enjoy the food, the entertainment and the atmosphere of Sukkot together,” she said.
Admission is free. Suggested donations are $18 per adult, $10 per child, or $54 per family. Reservations are required at JewishTamarac.com/family.
