Crime Update for Tamarac Through June 29

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through June 29.

 All Other Arrestable Offenses

8291 N University Dr – Mobil Gas Station

On June 24, the owner of the Mobil Gas Station reported that two males in a 2017 black Chevrolet Silverado dumped a large amount of trash in the business dumpster.

Auto Theft

8300 block of Sands Point Blvd

On June 23, a resident reported the theft of his maroon 2017 Nissan Altima. Stolen overnight.

8900 block of NW 78th Ct

On June 23, The victim had her vehicle (black Honda Accord stolen from the parking lot in front of her apartment.

6800 block of NW 69th Ct – Brookside Cove

On June 23, the victim rented out his 2018 Silver Dodge Caravan. The renter failed to return the vehicle on the date agreed on.

7400 block of NW 85th Ct – Southgate Gardens

On June 27, the victim advised she noticed her 2016 Nissan Rogue was stolen from her assigned parking spot. No suspects or surveillance at this time.

Baker Act

4900 block of  NW 45th Ter – Mainlands of Tamarac Lakes

On June 23, a woman was not speaking logically and believed someone was using technology to scam her and burn her body. She met the criteria for the Baker Act and was transported to Florida Medical Center for evaluation.

Battery

7900 block of  NW 67th Ave – Heathgate Sunflower

On June 27, a man alleges that a male jumped him named Jose and Jose’s cousin while outside of the residence.

Burglary Business

4900 block of E Sabal Palm Blvd – Lakes of Carriage Hills

On June 26, BSO spoke with the victim via landline who advised an unknown subject stole her $300 purse with her car keys and over $130 in cash.

8200 block of NW 61st St – Fairways of Tamarac

On June 27, several male suspects attempted to enter the victim’s occupied condo, by prying the rear jalousie window but left when the window cracked.

Burglary Conveyance

9200 block of NW 81st St – Westwood 5

On June 23, a burglary conveyance occurred in front of the residence after a male was seen by a neighbor who witnessed him breaking into the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s sunglasses ($100.00) were stolen, but not recovered after the subject was arrested down the street from the scene.

5700 block of NW 70th Ter – Mainlands Section 9

On June 24, the victim’s doorbell Ring camera captured a male attempt to open the driver’s door of her white Hyundai Sonata. Suspect in the video is a male with long black dreads wearing a light-colored Adidas t-shirt and light-colored shorts.

Criminal Mischief

4900 block of NW 26th Way – Tamarac Lakes South

On June 28, the victim stated a former roommate of the property was at the residence that morning knocking at the front door. After the previous roommate left the area, the victim noticed spill coffee on the front door and scratches all over his 2005 silver Jaguar.

Fraud

8400 block of W McNab Rd – Golf View

On June 25, the caller advised that unknown online companies have been taking money out of his business’s bank account that he never authorized.

Information

8100 block of  San Carlos Cir – Sanibel

On June 23, the victim’s plate was stolen from the vehicle by unknown suspect(s).

9400 block of Lime Bay Blvd – Lime Bay

On June 23, the complainant requested a report to document she injured her foot in her front door when she closed the door at the same time the repairman was shutting it.

9600 block of S Belfort Cir – Kings Point

On June 24, the resident wanted to document the occurrence of his registered vehicle to this address being egged, and a note left stating it would be towed.

8100 block of Hibiscus Cir

On June 27, the caller said she was verbally threatened over the phone

Trespassing

4100 block of W Commercial Blvd – Publix

On June 25, Charles J. Johnson was placed into custody for trespassing after warned.

Retail Theft

3150 W Commercial – Family Dollar

On June 27, the suspect stole multiple items and left the store without paying. The reporting person advised he confronted the suspect and demanded she return the items. The suspect then removed a few of the stolen items from her backpack but left the store without paying for the other ones.

3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS

On June 25, an unknown male entered the store, selected multiple laundry detergent items, and exited the store without paying for the items. The total amount of laundry

detergent stolen was $58.56.

Theft

8800 block of W McNab Rd – The Greens of Tamarac

On June 23, an unknown suspect(s) took the victim’s stimulus check and cashed it at a Wells Fargo in an unknown location.

Quesnel Caraghiaur, Patrick Georges Stefan (W M, 32) Arrest on charges of Burglary-conveyance Unoccupied/unarmed at 9203 Nw 81st St, Tamarac, on 06/23/2020.

Becho, Sammy (W M, 41) was arrested on charges of Fraud-impersonation-falsely Identify Self As Contractor at 5002 Bayberry Ln, Tamarac, on 06/24/2020.

Johnson, Charles Jaqauvius (B M, 20) was arrested on charges of Trespassing-structure Or Conveyance at 4121 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 06/25/2020.

Beauvoir, Tiezshaeious Ta-knocka (B F, 26) was arrested on charges of Damage Prop-crim mischief-over 200 Dollars Under 1000 Dollars at 8573 Nw 61st St, Tamarac, on 06/25/2020.

Owen, Shakel Aisha Ruth (B F, 26) was arrested on charges of Battery-touch Or Strike at 54 Spinning Wheel Ln, Tamarac, on 06/28/2020.

Phipps, William Leslie Keyshawn (B M, 34) was arrested on charges of Larc-petit Theft 2nd Degree 1st Offense at 3150 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 06/28/2020.
