Detectives Search for Killer of 19-Year-Old North Lauderdale Resident

A 19-year-old man is dead from gunshot wounds after his vehicle was sideswiped in a parking lot by unknown suspects.

Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives seek the public’s help in identifying an individual or several suspects involved in a shooting that killed Armani Harrison on Mother’s Day.

At 12:16 a.m. on May 9, BSO deputies were dispatched to a shooting at 1170 Sussex Drive in North Lauderdale. A few minutes later, Lauderdale Lakes BSO deputies were dispatched to Florida Medical Center for a gunshot victim. 

Deputies contacted witnesses at the hospital who advised that Harrison had been shot at the Sussex Drive location. Harrison succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Further investigation by detectives revealed that Armani was attending a party located at the 900 block of S.W. 81st Ave. in North Lauderdale a few minutes before he was shot. Witnesses stated that an unknown vehicle sideswiped Armani’s vehicle in the parking lot and fled.

At some point, shots were fired at 1170 Sussex Drive in North Lauderdale, and Armani was hit and driven to Florida Medical Center, where he died.
