A resident of the Lime Bay condominiums in Tamarac molested a disabled 15-year-old boy in the neighborhood’s community center, court records show.
The victim was washing dishes in the center’s kitchen on Oct. 10 when Saul Garcia, 51, approached him from behind and repeatedly touched his genitals and buttocks against his will, according to an arrest affidavit.
Garcia, of 9400 Lime Bay Blvd., admitted to Broward Sheriff’s Office investigators he carried out the abuse and had also touched the boy’s penis at the community center in August, the affidavit states.
Lime Bay is a multi-phase, 55 and over retirement community.
The child victimized in the clubhouse suffers from developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain disorder, epilepsy, and partial blindness, according to BSO.
Garcia was charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a child older than 12 but younger than 16.
He was being held at the Broward County Main Jail Thursday on a $200,000 bond.
