Starting on January 1, 2023, Florida drivers will be able to take advantage of the new Toll Relief Program, which offers credits to frequent commuters using toll roads across the state.
The program, proposed by Governor Ron DeSantis and enacted by the Florida Legislature, will automatically give Floridians with 35 or more toll transactions per month a 50 percent credit on their account. This will save the average commuter around $400 in the 2023 calendar year and is expected to benefit around 1.2 million drivers.
The Toll Relief Program is available to drivers of two-axle vehicles who use toll transponders like SunPass and have accounts in good standing with 35 or more qualifying toll transactions per month. There is no need to apply for the program, as credits will be automatically applied to each qualifying account.
