Food, Fun and Live Entertainment on Tap at 14th Annual Taste of Tamarac

Clear your calendar because The Taste of Tamarac is back for the 14th year and it’s even bigger and better than before.

The event held on October 14 is presented by the Greater Tamarac Chamber of Commerce and will bring more than 50 local restaurants and businesses together with more than 1,000 residents for an entertaining, interactive, fun Saturday.

This year, attendees can satisfy their sweet tooth or sweet tooth with food provided by Metro Diner, Sam’s Club, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Saxsay Café, Tin Fish, Colony West Golf Club, J.P Taravella Culinary Students, Tijuana Flats, Tamarac Café Diner, Pizza Hut, Blue Fish Sushi Thai, Snappers, University Hospital, Earth Save, Benihana, Tijuana Taxi, Silverspot at Coconut Creek, Tropical Mint Tea, Los Verdes, Arby’s, Walmart, Reggae Pon the Grill and more.

Even if you’re not in the eating mood, walk around and meet with entrepreneurs from local businesses like 13th Floor Homes, Broward Health Coral Springs, PuroClean, MCCI, Dr. Dulay Dental, Back-In-Motion Chiropractic, Avenue Supportive Care, Walgreens, Creation Business Center, Rebounderz of Sunrise, Bailey Memorial, Strikers Family Sportscenter, City of Tamarac, Encore Dance Theater, PennHouse Productions, Ed Horowitz Strolling Musician, Arrigo Sawgrass, TLC Dental, Remax Interaction Realty, State farm Melba Ballard Tamarac Chamber of Commerce and more.

Other family-friendly activities include an arts and crafts station and several activities for children including Waste Management Cycler Robot, South Florida Cloggers, dancing competitions and face painting. Additionally, throughout the day, there will be stage demonstrations from local dance groups, schools, and community organizations.

The Taste of Tamarac will kick-off at the Launch Party from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28 at the Sawgrass Grand Hotel at 300 N. University Drive, Sunrise, FL 33322. The launch party doubles as an after hours business networking event where all industries and professionals can meet Taste of Tamarac sponsors, as well as Tamarac Chamber members.

At both the Taste of Tamarac and the Launch Party, there will be a food drive, co-sponsored by the Chamber and PuroClean. In addition to collecting non-perishable items at the two events, PuroClean and the Greater Tamarac Chamber of Commerce will be collecting food at their offices through November 17. All food collected will benefit Family Central, a Fort Lauderdale-based non-profit organization that provides quality family support and educational services.

Sponsors of this year’s Taste of Tamarac include Broward Health Coral Springs, City of Tamarac, Applebee’s, Arrigo, Walmart, Bailey Memorial, MCCI, Waste Management, State Farm Melba Ballard, Walgreens and the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce.

The Taste of Tamarac is held on Saturday, October 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m at the Tamarac Community Center at 8601 W Commercial Blvd. 

Cost of admission to the Taste of Tamarac is $10 for adults, $5 for children age 6-12, and free for children five and younger. Tickets can be purchased at the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce at 7525 NW 88th Ave, or online at www.tasteoftamarac.org. An early bird rate of 50 percent off original ticket prices is available until October 11.
