Held at the country club to a packed crowd on Tuesday evening, the project manager along with the director of sales with Pulte gave a presentation showing the site plan for the 152 single-family homes which will be designed in enclaves or “pods” around the former Pines golf course.

Starting around $450,000, the homes will be one and two-story Mediterranean and Craftsman style elevations with open floor plans ranging in size from 2,400 to 3,320 square feet that will be built on 50 x 110 size lots that will be large enough to accommodate a swimming pool.

Sidewalks will line both sides of the streets, and the builder will include landscaping, walls and signage outside of these areas.

The community will also get a new club house.  The current one will be demolished and replaced with a 50,000 square foot one-story clubhouse just south of it. This will include demolition and installation of a new pool. Demo of the old pool area will start right away.

“I just sold a home backing up to the old golf course in Woodmont,” said Real Estate Broker Sandra Milo with Serafina Realty of Tamarac who attended tonight’s presentation with her new buyer, Rich Fortner. “We were not 100 percent sure what was going to occur on the unused land behind them, but we found out tonight exactly what the plans are. Now I have the site plan and first-hand knowledge what is happening in there to share with other buyers. I’m also excited to see more growth in my hometown of Tamarac.”

Homes will start at $450,000 according to Pulte homes.

The former Pines golf course will still be usable as a nine-hole course said Club Manager Mark Schmidt. The course should be up and running in November.  Sports membership will be required and residents can upgrade to a golf membership. There will be no initiation fee. The homes will have their own HOA fees just like other managed communities.

The next steps before new home sales begin will be the site plan approval which will be in April 2017.  Then comes the land closing shortly after.  After that, development will start one pod at a time. The models will be built around the third or fourth quarter of this year. Buyers should see the home models Grand Opening early 2018.
