The Kiwanis Club of Tamarac invites adults with disabilities, their families, and community supporters to learn more about getting involved with Aktion Club at an upcoming interest meeting.
The Aktion Club Interest Meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd.
Broward Sheriff’s Office Capt. David Franks, who leads the BSO Tamarac District, will attend as the event’s special guest.
Aktion Club is a service organization for adults with disabilities ages 18 and older that provides opportunities for members to make new friends, develop leadership skills, participate in community service and make their voices heard.
The meeting is open to individuals with disabilities, as well as their families, friends and community supporters interested in learning more about the organization.
Organizers hope the gathering will give prospective members a chance to meet others, learn about Aktion Club’s activities and discover ways to become more involved in the Tamarac community.
The Kiwanis Club of Tamarac will also provide snacks during the meeting.
