Authorities have charged a man with murder in a March 24 shooting that left one man dead and two others wounded outside a North Lauderdale bar, officials said.

Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives arrested Brandon Shane Roberts, 32, of Deerfield Beach, five days after the fatal shooting of DeAndre Major, BSO announced Wednesday.

The shooting happened shortly before 3:41 a.m. in front of Players Sports Bar and Grill at 5280 N. State Road, according to BSO. Deputies responded to the crime scene and learned that three shooting victims had been driven to two hospitals by people at the scene, authorities said.

Emergency personnel pronounced Major dead later that morning. The other shooting victims, Brandon Pinkney, 36, of Coral Springs, and Clarence Hall, 30, of Miami, suffered not life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Homicide detectives identified Roberts as the shooting suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was booked into the Broward Main Jail with no bond and charged with first-degree murder with a firearm as well as attempted murder with a firearm, records show.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, according to BSO.
