Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through June 15.
Auto Theft
5300 block of NW 28th Ave – Tamarac Lakes North
On June 9, an unlocked vehicle with a spare key left inside was stolen.
Battery
7800 block of NW 66th Ter -Sunflower
On June 10, a mother was grabbed by her adult son, who was trying to obtain her cell phone to call 911. The adult son has been diagnosed with mental illness and was transported to University Hospital.
4900 block of Nw 27th Ter – Tamarac Lakes South
On June 13, BSO Investigated allegations of a father of a child in common slamming the victim on to the ground.
Burglary Conveyance
7500 block of Black Olive Way – Woodmont
On June 11, Car was left unlocked by owner and Amazon package taken from the front passenger seat, and the vehicle glovebox and the center console went through. Area canvass conducted, and next-door neighbor has outside video camera and was going to check and later for footage. 7Z4 processed vehicle, and no latent prints were located. Three other residences in the area had outside visible cameras, but no answer at the front doors.
3800 W Commercial Blvd – La Quinta Hotel
On June 12, an unknown suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s vehicle while parked at the hotel parking lot and stole a wallet containing multiple items. No forced entry was made to the vehicle.
Burglary Business
6193 Rock Island Rd – The Gate Condominium
On June 12, BSO met with the caller regarding an unknown subject who entered the maintenance storage room and removed her keys to her vehicle.
Burglary Residence
2900 block of NW 48th St – Tamarac Lakes South
On June 10, an unknown person(s) attempted to gain access to the residence by throwing a brick at his hurricane impact back window (the window was not cracked or broken). Also, the screen door bent and forced open. Back door leading to the inside of the residence had pry marks near door jam. The resident and neighbors did not have any type of security surveillance to check for video.
Domestic Disturbance
4400 block of Treehouse Ln – Arbor Keys
On June 10, an elderly black female accused her son-in-law of hitting her in the head. There were no visible injuries.
Fire
4829 Nw 37th Ave
On June 10, an RV caught fire, ruled accidental by the fire department.

4900 block of NW 45th Ter – Mainlands 1
On June 11, the couple reported an ongoing issue with their neighbor who throws eggs at their vehicles and residences.
7100 block of NW 74th Pl – Vanguard Village
On June 11, an unknown person used the reporting person identity and attempted to purchase three iPhone X`s.
Forgery
6300 block of NW 73rd Ave – Mainlands of Tamarac Lakes
On June 12, BSO met with the caller who advised an unknown male came to her home to buy mangos in her trees and paid her using a counterfeit $100 bill.
Fraud
7001 N University Dr – Bank of America
Reported June 9, unknown suspects(s) used the victim’s debit card and took money from an ATM.
Lost Property
8600 block of Nw 61st St – Spectra at Tamarac
Reported June 8, the reporting person wanted to report the loss of his son’s passport and social security card.
Retail Theft
3101 W Commercial Blvd – 7-Eleven
On June 10, a male wearing a tan shirt, tan shorts, a pink hat, and a black mask walked out of the store with miscellaneous items without paying. Surveillance video was taken by tablet and placed into evidence along with the receipt.
7305 W Commercial Blvd – Pep boys
On June 10, the manager advised that almost a month ago, someone ordered four struts online and did not pay for them. The person who ordered them just took them and left.
6900 N University Dr – CVS
On June 12, BSO responded to a theft at CVS involving two female subjects who filled up a cooler with an abundant amount of items from the pharmacy.

On June 13, two male subjects entered the store and loaded a plastic bag and a backpack with several detergents and air fresheners. Subjects then left the store in an unknown direction.
6401 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On June 13, BSO responded to a theft at Walgreens involving three female subjects who exited the pharmacy without rendering payment for an abundant amount of items from the pharmacy.
3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On June 11, an unknown male entered Walgreens and stole approximately $55.60 worth of laundry detergent.
Robbery
6931 N Pine Island Rd
On June 11, robbery accusation made. The Individual’s story had multiple inconsistencies. About 2 hours later, another robbery was reported, putting the initial individual as a suspect, although the reporting party’s account had inconsistencies as well.
Theft
8301 W Commercial Blvd – Comfort Suites
On June 9, callers company’s cell phone was taken by a known friend, who did not return it.
4700 W Commercial Blvd – City of Tamarac
On June 9, copper wire was stolen from the street lights at 4700 W Commercial Blvd.
7500 block of Black Olive Ave – Woodmont Country Club
On June 11, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s license plate and decal from the victim’s vehicle.
Trespassing
6401 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On June 11, BSO made contact with the subject. Once on the scene, the subject did not want to provide them with her name. To de-escalate the situation, BSO asked the subject to speak with them outside. After refusing, BSO placed one handcuff to her left wrist using no force, she then agreed to exit the store and provided them with her Florida Driver’s License.
