This November, I’m feeling extra thankful to our community of kindhearted residents, hardworking business owners, brave first responders, and heroic veterans. Your tireless dedication and sacrifice have helped our city become the vibrant, resilient place we call home. I wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Election time is also upon us this month, with voting day happening on November 8. Vote-by-mail ballots can be mailed in or dropped off between October 24 and November 6 at any early voting site. The nearest Early Voting site is at the Tamarac Library, 8701 W. Commercial Blvd. Ballots must be received by November 8 at 7:00 p.m. when the polls close. Honoring our local heroes at the Veterans Day Ceremony is a privilege I look forward to every year. And since our Veterans’ Park is still being renovated, this year’s ceremony will take place at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd., at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 11. I’m excited to see you at our 41st Annual Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K bright and early at 7:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning (Thursday, November 24th) at City Hall, 7525 NW 88th Ave. Registration is $30 per participant until November 15, and late registration is $35 until November 23. This event is perfect for all ages; participants can run, jog, or walk. Proceeds benefit Tamarac’s Parks and Recreation Foundation and are used to fund youth program grants, scholarships, and more! Don’t miss the next membership breakfast for the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce (TNLCC) on Thursday, November 3, at 7:30 a.m. at the Woodmont Country Club, 7801 NW 80th Ave. The meeting will be sponsored by Klos Consulting Inc., where they will discuss issues like ransomware, malware, phishing/spam, and other cybersecurity threats affecting businesses.

New Hope Church will hold a food distribution on Tuesday, November 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and every third Tuesday of the month at 545 E Campus Circle, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312.
Don’t miss Food Truck Fridays every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd. Stop by with the family and choose from an array of delicious food vendors. There’ll be lots of fun, music, and games for everyone to enjoy!
