Meet Apollo and Lucille: 2 Pets in Search of Forever Homes

Apollo and Lucille.

Two adorable pets, Apollo and Lucille, are eagerly awaiting to find their new families at the Humane Society of Broward County.

Apollo, a lively and affectionate 3-year-old canine, seeks a new best friend. Previously enjoying life with his human, Apollo found himself at the shelter after his owner received a move-out notice and decided not to take him along.

Despite the upheaval, Apollo remains optimistic and is ready to bring joy and laughter to a new home. Weighing in at a modest 51 pounds, this playful pooch may be short in stature, but he’s certainly big on personality.

With a penchant for fun and a heart full of love, Apollo hopes to become the cherished companion of someone who appreciates his energetic and goofy nature. Thanks to the generosity of dog lover Letty, Apollo’s adoption fee has been covered.

Meanwhile, Lucille, a charming bunny weighing just over 6 pounds, is also searching for a loving home. Her journey to the shelter began when her former owner abandoned her at a park.

Fortunately, a kind-hearted individual rescued her and brought her to safety. Now, Lucille is eager to hop into the hearts of a new family.

With a love for exploration and exercise, Lucille is seeking a home where she can thrive on a healthy diet of high-quality rabbit food and plenty of greens. If you have a vegetable garden, she would be delighted to join you on her adventures.

Prospective adopters can complete a pre-adoption application on the Humane Society of Broward County’s website at www.humanebroward.com to meet Apollo (ID 679957), Lucille (ID 680037), or any other pet in need of a forever home.

The shelter, located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, is open seven days a week, with adoption kennels opening daily at 11 a.m. Appointments are not required. For inquiries, interested individuals can contact the shelter at 954-989-3977 ext. 6.

Additionally, the shelter offers services such as microchipping and vaccinations for pets. The vaccine clinic operates six days a week, with no appointment necessary. Pet owners can find more information on the shelter’s website.

These pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive preliminary vaccinations, 14 days of limited health care from VCA Animal Hospitals, a bag of Purina One pet food, and more upon adoption.
