Never lose your furry friend again: PetHub and Broward County Animal Care Launch New QR-Coded Tag Program

Tag, you’re it! PetHub and Broward County Animal Care team up to launch a new way for Fido to stay found.

Losing a furry friend is every pet parent’s nightmare, but with the latest partnership between PetHub and Broward County Animal Care, reuniting with your lost pet just got a whole lot easier by launching a new tag program to keep pets safe and increase the number of lost pets reunited with their owners.

The digital rabies registration tags are available for purchase through the Broward County Animal Care website and participating veterinary offices.

“We are excited to partner with PetHub to keep Broward County pets safer with smart pet tags,” said Emily Wood, director at Broward County Animal Care. “Offering these digital tags will help us reunite lost pets with their families sooner and reduce lost pet intakes at the animal shelter. Instead of having to take a dog or cat to a shelter facility or a veterinarian to scan for potential microchip information, these tags only require a quick scan of the QR code to bring up all of the important details about the lost pet, including the owner’s contact information.”

The QR-coded tags offer numerous benefits to pet owners, local municipalities, and animal welfare organizations, including increased compliance with identification programs, reduced lost pet intakes, and eligibility for PetHub’s Shelter Share Program.

The tags can be scanned to view pet information, or the license number can be entered on PetHub.com to access a pet’s profile.
