A power tool theft at Home Depot is leaving police ‘drilling’ for leads.
On Tuesday, Dec. 6, a group of thieves made off with over $2,800 worth of power tools from a Home Depot in North Lauderdale. The theft occurred just before 3 p.m. near the 1100 block of South State Road 7.
Surveillance footage showed the three male suspects entering the store and filling a shopping cart with approximately ten power drills before exiting the store without paying. At no point did the individuals attempt to pay for the tools before leaving the business.
Once outside, the suspects placed the stolen items inside a dark-colored four-door vehicle, which was occupied by a fourth person. The car was last seen exiting the plaza on Southwest 12th Street and South State Road 7.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individuals involved in the theft.
