An open house is scheduled for a new Tamarac competitive cheerleading program headed up by a coach with over 25 years of experience.
As a cheerleader growing up in North Lauderdale, Elysa Vulpis returned to it at 22 to coach for the Sunrise Panthers All-Stars.
“Pam Yonce and her three daughters owned that, and here we are 20 years later, and I am opening my own program and have one of her daughters as my main coach,” she said.
After the Sunrise Panthers, Vulpis went into the music industry, but five years ago, she began coaching again, at Pride Cheer in Fort Lauderdale.
“I stayed there for a good two seasons and then decided that I wanted to be behind the scenes and opened up my own uniform and apparel company for cheerleading.”
She called it Dream Designs Glam it Up, and after three years, she went back to her love of helping children in competitive cheerleading.
Her new program is holding an open house to learn more. Vulpis stressed it would be COVID-19 compliant with temperature tests. It takes place on Saturday, February 27, from 12 p.m. – 3 p..m. at All Sports Kids at 7081 Pine Island Road in Tamarac. Call 954-445-2482 for prices and more information.
