Detectives are searching for a suspect and his accomplices who stole merchandise from a North Lauderdale Walmart store — with the main culprit noticeably wearing red shoes.
They believe the suspects used different getaway vehicles each time and stole more than $3,000 worth of items over the course of the five thefts.
The first incident took place on September 11, when a man entered the front door, loading his shopping cart without paying, and exited through the back door.
Surveillance spotted the man again on September 21, placing two HP printers, a comforter, and a light dimmer into a shopping cart and continuing throughout the store stealing $500 worth of merchandise.
On September 28, surveillance cameras showed a white Nissan Altima in the same Walmart parking lot. The subject then entered the store and proceeded to take two televisions worth $400.
He returned October 11 with an accomplice, entered the store, and took nearly $2,000 worth of items, including a kids ATV, hoverboard, and fled the scene through an emergency exit with a running vehicle waiting outside.
The most recent incident occurred on October 17, when the suspect entered the store with a female, placed two flat-screen televisions in a shopping cart, and left through an emergency exit. Surveillance cameras spotted them driving away in a red Chevy Equinox waiting outside.
A reward of $3,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
