Stolen Designer Bags and an Uninvited Pool Guest this week in Tamarac Crime

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through June 22.

Animal Bite

4900 block of Umbrella Tree Ln – Woodlands Country Cub

On June 21, the Complainant reported his dog, and he was bitten by his neighbor’s dog while outside his residence.

Auto Theft

5751 Madison Ave – Woodspring Suites

On June 20, a known subject took the victim’s car key while he was sleeping and took his white 2004 Nissan Maxima.

Battery

5800 block of NW 57th Ave – Woodland Cove

On June 20, BSO met with the caller who advised after the police left her home that morning, she went to sleep, and her ex-husband came back into the bedroom and attacked her.

Burglary Conveyance

7300 block of NW 64th St – Vanguard Village

On June 21, two unknown males wearing dark hoodies and backpacks were spotted by the caller near the vehicle that was made entry to. Once the caller exited the home, she witnessed the two males run westbound on 64th St then northbound on 74th Ave.

Property Damage

8900 block of NW 78th – Lakeview Flats

On June 20, Tamarac Fire Rescue had to make forced entry into two apartments that were vacant at the time, during a call of smoke in the building. The property manager was on scene and given information for the City of Tamarac.

Criminal Mischief

4000 W Commercial Blvd

On June 19, the female reported an unknown male damaged the hood of her vehicle as a result of a road rage incident.

Fraud

7700 block of Yardley Dr – Kings Point

On June 16, the victim was given fraudulent information and scammed out of his money.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts

8700 block of Holly Ct – Woodlands Country Club

On June 17, an unknown suspect took two tires from two of the same model vehicles, which belonged to the same family. Area canvassed for any witnesses or video cameras, but neither could be located.

Information

2800 W Commercial Blvd – Tamarac Lakes South

On June 17, the reporting persons advised they were HOA Board Members for the listed community, they both wanted to report a resident of the community trespassed from the community pool because he was not a registered resident and was at the pool with food, alcohol, and a dog, and became aggressive and when they attempted to ask him and his guest to leave.

6931 N Pine Island Rd – Walmart Plaza

On June 20, an older man got into a confrontation with an unknown subject, resulting in his phone being slapped out of his hand and thrown.

5751 Madison Ave – Woodspring Suites

On June 20, a disturbance occurred at the hotel after an intoxicated male disciplined a child, who was not his own. The male was confronted by others, who detained him for police.

Retail Theft

5727 N University Dr – Dress For Less – Discount Scrubs/fashion

On June 18, two females came into the store with face masks and stole scrub uniforms from the business.

Theft

5800 block of Abbey Rd – Hampton Hills

On June 17, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s decal from the victim’s license plate

9100 block of Lancaster St – Hampton Hills

Between November 18, 2019, and June 18, 2020, an ex-employee stole funds from the association.

Theft from Building

7710 NW 71st Ct – Medical Building

Between June 12 and June 15, the victim left items in their office. Two designer bags were taken by an unknown suspect. Victim believes it was a new cleaning crew, that washed the carpets in the building.

Trespassing

6045 N University Dr – Family Dollar

On June 17, Manager of business issued subjects a trespass warning in my presence. BSO Trespass signage is affixed to the building, and BSO Trespass Affidavit is on file.

Threats Intimidation

20 block of Spinning Wheel Ln – Shaker Village

On June 20, the victim stated that the suspect left threatening voicemails, saying, “I’m not afraid to kill you.” The victim is in fear for her life, and the process of obtaining a restraining order was explained to the victim for extra protection.
