Tamarac Business Accused of Battery on an Exotic Dancer

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes in Tamarac through September 14.

Auto Theft

5000 block of Island Club Dr

On September 8 a gold 2014 Hyundai Sonata stolen out of Pompano Beach and was recovered in Tamarac in fair condition. No latent prints were available.

8100 block of N Pine Island Rd

On September 10, the victim left her 2020 Honda Pilot running while dropping off her child at daycare. The victim observed an unknown male enter the vehicle and drive off. The victim had a handgun inside a backpack on the front passenger seat.

5100 block of E Sabal Palm Blvd

On September 10, BSO made contact with the victim who advised her vehicle was stolen. Unknown subject(s) possibly gained entry by prying one of the doors open using unknown tools.

7900 block of S Colony Cir

On September 10, a 2020 Blue Honda Accord was stolen from the apartment complex parking lot.

8050 block of NW 96th Ter – Coral Vista Apartments

On September 11, a victim’s white 2019 Toyota Highlander was taken. The victim could not advise any suspect information.

Battery

5357 N State Road 7 – Exhale Hookah and Smokes

On September 13, an exotic dancer reported that after working for six hours, she was battered by security guards at Exhale Hookah and Smokes, along with not being compensated for $150 by the business.

Burglary Conveyance

4500 block of NW 44th – Mainlands

On September 9, a delayed burglary conveyance to a gray Chevy Equinox and a black Hyundai Sonata was reported. The stolen property consisted of a wallet.

Burglary Residence

6070 block of N Sabal Palm Blvd

On September 12, a suspect did not make entry to the apartment building but a burglary tool was used, a possible drill, that damaged the key lock of the door handle.

Criminal Mischief

7400 block of NW 58th St – Mainlands 9

On September 9, the victim’s driver’s side mirror was smashed and a piece of plastic on the roof of the vehicle was removed.

7500 block of NW 74th Ter

On September 9, BSO made contact with the victim who advised that an unknown subject(s) vandalized his vehicle, causing minimal damage. No surveillance footage is available.

Domestic Disturbance

6100 block of Laurel Ln – Sun Vista Apartments

On September 12, BSO responded to a domestic disturbance at the above location.

Found Property

5800 block of NW 82nd Ave

On September 8, the reporting person found 9mm bullets while she was cleaning her home, which belonged to her deceased husband. The bullets were entered in ACE for destruction.

Fraud

7901 W Commercial Blvd – 7 Eleven

On September 8, two credit card skimmers were located attached to pumps. Skimmers taken for evidence and submitted for DNA testing. Possible suspect vehicles. No video footage at this time

7100 block of NW 61st St

On September 9, the victim reported that his real estate company is currently selling a home in Tamarac. They stated that an unknown individual is using their information on Craigslist is attempting to “Rent” the home. The unknown subject was attempting to accept payments through Zelle along with routing numbers.

5901 Madison Ave – Arrigo at Sawgrass

On September 4, the reporting person advised that an unknown person(s) attempted to purchase a vehicle from the business utilizing fraudulent information.

Information

8400 block of NW 80th Ct – Woodmont

Reported on September 8, the homeowner wanted to document the occurrence of a dog attack on March 23. The incident was originally documented with Broward County Animal Control.

5700 block of Coco Palm Dr -Woodlands

On September 8, BSO met with the reporting person to take a delayed information report on a company hired to do roofing work on the

5700 block of NW 87th Ave

On September 9, a person wanted to document the occurrence of a scam using the Comcast name involving eBay gift Cards.

7500 block of N Pine Island Rd

On September 9, the candidate stated that she is being followed while putting out her campaign signs

Retail Theft

4121 W Commercial Blvd – Publix

On September 9, an unknown man entered the liquor store associated with Publix. The man then proceeded to grab three Crown Royal bottles and immediately ran out of the store without rendering payment for the liquor.

3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS

On September 12, an unknown female entered the CVS, grabbed multiple packs of diapers and a walkie talkie, then proceeded to exit the store without paying for the items.

3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On September 13, the store manager reported two unknown individuals who stole merchandise from the store. They stated the suspects entered the store and stole hair products.

Robbery by Sudden Snatching

5600 N University Dr

On September 11, the victim advised that while riding the Broward County Public Bus, an unknown male snatched her iPhone 11 out of her hand as the bus came into a complete stop at the 5600 block of N University Dr.

Theft

3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS

On September 12, a reported an unknown male stole face masks, Neosporin, and ArmorAll car spray for an approximate loss of $322.97.

Arrests

Ross, Jevon C. (B M, 19) was arrested on charges of Warrant at 6100 Nw 70th Av, Tamarac, on 09/09/2020.

Tharp, David Keith (W M, 59) was arrested on charges of Violation of Parole – Warrant at 7425 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 09/11/2020.

Steinberg, Justin Eli (WM,40) was arrested on charges of Moving Traffic Viol- Driving On Permanently revoked Driver License at 6400 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 09/13/2020.

Golding, Raymond Walter (B M, 27) was arrested on charges of Warrant at 4700 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 09/13/2020.
