Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through May 11.
Auto Theft
6800 N Pine Island Rd – Colony West
On May 5, a victim had his blue Kia Spectra stolen from the parking lot, while playing golf.
7100 block of Woodmont Ave
On May 7, the victim left his vehicle parked in a guest parking spot in his community on 05/06/20 at approximately 20:00 hours, then arrived home the next day and noticed his vehicle missing from the parking space.
7900 block of N Colony Cir. – Versailles Garden
On May 7, an unknown subject took victim’s gray 2019 Toyota Corolla without her permission. The victim stated her vehicle was last seen that morning. The keys were in the car.
Battery
7625 W Commercial Blvd – Taco Bell
On May 5, an unknown female suspect threw a drink at the victim, striking her in the face. The suspect fled in an unknown vehicle.
3116 W Commercial Blvd – Win Dixie
On May 7, The victim was having a verbal dispute with Winn Dixie manager Neisha Smith when she knocked his phone out of his hand as he was attempting to record her.
4500 block of NW 17th Av. Tamarac Lakes
On May 9, Caller advised him, and his wife was in a verbal dispute that turned physical. BSO observed the minor lacerations to the man’s right arm. The wife was transported to BSO Main Jail for battery.
4500 block of Nw 16th Ter
On May 6, a man reported while traveling in a car with his girlfriend, and they engaged in an altercation.
Burglary Conveyance
2800 block of NW 48th St
An unknown subject wearing a hoodie and masked attempted to make entry on a 2014 White Mercedes C250. Nothing was taken from the victim’s vehicle. Latent Prints were unfounded.
Burglary Business
2701 Nw 55th Ct – Fg Construction
On May 7, an unknown jumped the locked fence to listed business where he then entered two unlocked work vehicles that were parked in the business parking lot and stole multiple tools. He then attempted to enter numerous other vehicles by pulling on the door handles to see if they were unlocked as well. The unknown also stole tools from the onsite open-air mechanics bay. Latent Prints were not collected due to the time delay of this report. Surveillance collected.
Burglary Conveyance
4500 block of NW 16th Terr – Tamarac Lakes South
On May 5, an unlocked vehicle was burglarized. No property reported stolen. Point of Entry was front driver side door. Latent Prints collected. Surveillance available on Ring Doorbell.
9600 block of NW 76th St
Between May 5 and 6, BSO responded out to document an attempted burglary to a conveyance. The victim states when returning to his vehicle in the morning, he noticed that his driver’s side window was cracked.
900 block of NW 45th Ct – Tamarac Lakes Section Two
On May 9, multiple unlocked vehicles were burglarized. Property reported stolen in two vehicles. Point of Entry was the driver side front doors. Latent Prints collected. Surveillance collected.
Domestic Disturbance
470o block of NW 44th St
On May 9, an elderly couple was arguing because the husband wanted his wife to go to the hospital. Tamarac Fire Rescue has been to the residence multiple times, and she does not meet the criteria to go to the hospital. Adult Protective Services notified of possible neglect due to living conditions.
Drug/Narcotics Offenses
7000 W Mcnab Rd.
On May 5, during a traffic stop, front passenger was found in possession of 2 2mg green pills, scored S903, and 14 0.25mg white pills scored 027, which were identified via poison control as Alprazolam reference ID# M362553.
Fraud
4121 W Commercial Blvd – Publix
Between May 2 and 5, an unknown suspect(s) used credit card information in fraudulent transactions.
3833 W Commercial Blvd – Bank of America
On May 5, an unknown suspect deposited two fraudulent checks into victim personal account.
9500 block of Weldon Cir – Kings Point
On May 7, BSO responded out to document a fraud/scam that started over the phone. The victim was scammed into giving all of her bank and personal information to an unknown suspect.
7300 block of NW 85th Ct
Between Jan 1, 2017, and April 25, 2020, an unknown person used the victim’s personal information and filed taxes without her knowledge or permission.

10004 W McNab Rd – CVS
On May 6, BSO made contact with a recovery agent who repossessed a black Chevy Camaro. While conducting an inventory, he located marijuana and wanted to turn it over the authorities.
4400 block of NW 47th Ct – Mainlands
On May 6, a welfare check was conducted on a 66-year-old female.
10800 block of W Clairmont Cir – Kings Point
On May 6, a female received a voicemail from her brother stating, “I’m gonna come up there. You better get the police ready because I’m gonna beat your ass.” She was given instructions on how to file a restraining order.
5041 N State Road 7 -AMSCOT
On May 7, the reporting person wanted it documented that on 05/07/20 they a man and his friend caused a disturbance at AMSCOT and later called AMSCOT to call her names.
4121 W Commercial Blvd – Publix
On May 8, caller advised that a store associate coughed on him
7900 block of Catalina Cir
On May 9, a 30-year-old female admittedly overdosed on heroin and was revived by the mother using home Narcan. Tamarac Fire Rescue Transported to University Hospital. No illegal substances found on the scene.
Stolen Property
5607 Hiatus Rd – Audio Fidelity Communications Corp.
Between April 24 and 27, there was a theft of a business vehicle tag.
Suspicious Incident
7001 W Commercial Blvd
On May 6, two drivers engaged in a verbal altercation while traveling westbound on W Commercial Blvd. Driver#1 became fearful of the fact that Driver#2 was following him, and had a firearm.
Theft
6300 block of Landings Way
On May April 28, the victim wanted to report a Walmart package stolen from the residence.
7000 N University Dr – Shell
On May 10, the Complainant phone was stolen from the Shell gas station.
7400 block of NW 94th Way,
On May 5, the victim advised that an unknown person(s) stole his Florida license plate and decal from his vehicle.
