Domestic Incidents and More This Week in Tamarac Crime Through May 4

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through May 4.

Aggravated Battery

6700 block of NW 60th St

On April 28, an offender attacked the victim with a kitchen knife. The offender was arrested for Aggravated Battery and transported to BSO Main Jail.

Assault

6300 block of Brookwood Blvd – Mainlands

On May 2, the arrestee had a verbal argument with the victim, which escalated to Physical in nature. He was charged with Domestic Assault and transported to the Main Jail without incident.

Auto Theft

4800 block of NW 57th Ct

On April 28, unknown males stole the victim’s black Honda Accord car from his driveway. The victim stated that his car was unlocked, and his car key was in the car.

4400 block of Treehouse Ln

On May 1, an unknown subject(s) stole a 2019 Kia Forte that was left running with the keys on the ignition. The vehicle was entered into FCIC / NCIC as stolen.

Battery

8000 block of Nw 73rd Terr.

Between May 1 and 2, the caller advised her ex-husband (defendant) passed by the residence and accused her of seeing another man. The defendant then began to search the residence attempting to locate the man, during his search he placed his hands on the caller and pushed her away from the garage door so he may search the entire garage.

7001 W Commercial Blvd – TD Bank

On May 2, an unknown male subject engaged the security guard and a verbal confrontation and spit in the security guard’s face, at which point a fight between the two ensued. He left the area in a gold-colored Toyota.

Burglary Conveyance

5881 N University Dr – Publix

On April 29, the 91-year-old victim was parked in the rear of the Publix Supermarket. When she got into her vehicle, an unidentified female pulled open her passenger door and grabbed her purse that was in the passenger seat. The victim was injured, trying to secure her bag from the culprit. Another victim had her purse stolen out of the same parking lot.

7000 block of NW 99th Way – Westwood 3

Between May 2 and 3, the victim had her vehicle, a gray Chevy Malibu broke into, and a wallet was stolen.

Burglary Residence

2600 block of NW 54th St

On May 1, the victim advised that an unknown entered an unlocked closet in the carport attached to his home and stole several power tools and a gas can.

Domestic Disturbance

8400 block of Lagos De Campo Blvd

On April 28, the subject had a domestic verbal disturbance with her mother at the residence over marijuana and money. Subject trespassed from the residence and left without incident.

8400 block of NW 61st St

On May 3, a husband advised he and his wife had a verbal argument because the wife wanted to let a female friend spend the night at the residence. He said his wife threw a spoon at him, threw his clothes out of the residence, and slashed their vehicle right rear tire. He replaced the damaged tire and left the residence without any issue.

Criminal Mischief

5900 block of NW 57th Ct. – Woodland Meadow

On April 29, the victim found her vehicle’s passenger side front and rear windows damaged. At this time, it is undetermined what caused the damage.

Found Property

6200 block of NW 94th Ave

On April 29, a black backpack was located along the 6200 block of NW 94th Ave. The bag contained a medical device.

9099 W McNab Rd/ Westwood Blvd

On May 2, an anonymous subject turned in a wallet found on the sidewalk on the eastbound side of W McNab Rd and E Westwood Blvd.

Fraud

4211 W Commercial Blvd -Regions Bank

Between April 24 and 25, the victim wanted to report receiving and cashing a fraudulent check into his bank account.

7901 W Commercial Blvd – 7 Eleven

On April 30, An ATM Skimmer was located on pump #2. It was recovered and swabbed for DNA.

5700 block of NW 66th Ave

On April 29, The victim reported being scammed out of $1,980 by paying a deposit on a property offered on Craig’s List.

Retail Theft

3150 W Commercial Blvd – Family Dollar

On April 28, a male wearing a white tee-shirt, blue jeans, and a black mask walked out of the store with four bottles of gain detergent without paying. No surveillance video available at this time.

3116 W Commercial Blvd – Winn Dixie

On April 30, the reporting person advised that on 4-29-20 at approximately 19:30 hours, an unknown man and woman entered the Winn Dixie store and loaded up two shopping carts with items and walked out the back security doors without paying for them.

8801 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On April 30, the offender arrived at Walgreens and advised she wanted to exchange an electric burner. The cashier advised her to go get a new burner; however, as she returned, she then advised she wanted to return a few other items for cash. Little did she know, the store manager was watching her while she was stealing those items she wanted to return. The store manager stopped her.

Recovered Auto

4400 block of Woodland Cir – Woodland Villas

Between May 1 and 2, a 2019 White Honda Accord was a confirmed stolen out of Miami-Dade Police Department. The vehicle was towed to Wet Way and held for processing by Miami-Dade Police Department.

Stalking

9000 block of Lime Bay Blvd

On May 3, the landlord was harassing and stalking his tenant for approximately one month. Landlord forced entry into the residence while the tenant was not home.

Theft – All Other

7400 block of N University Dr

On April 28, victim advised on 04-28-2020 around 17:30 hours, she was at her son’s doctor’s office with her gray small coin purse inside the doctor’s office. She advised when she walked back out to her vehicle; she believes her coin purse dropped out of her main purse onto the ground.

11000 block of Sand Dollar Ct.

On April 28, BSO documented a delayed theft that occurred. The theft was of a $2,500 Goldendoodle that got loose and was possibly taken by an unknown suspect driving a silver Hyundai.

9790 block of N Grand Duke Cir

On May 1, the victim reported the theft of his license plate.

Threats- Intimidation

2600 block of NW 52nd Ct

On May 2, the victim advised he was receiving threats from an unknown number.

Information

6180 block of Laurel Ln.

On May 1, the caller advised he had parked the rented vehicle at the address for a few hours. At approximately 17:30, the caller found a small dent to the driver’s side rear door; the caller was unaware of what caused the damage.
