Tamarac Crime Update: Unlocked Vehicles Make Thefts Easy For Criminals

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through January 23.

Indecent Exposure/Lewd Lascivious

A 40-year-old male was the victim of an Indecent Exposure/Lewd Lascivious Act on NW 56 Place. The incident was reported on 1/17/2023 after a male food delivery person urinated in the driveway of the home.

Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts

A 25-year-old female was the victim of Theft-Motor Vehicle Parts on W Commercial Blvd on 01/17/2023. The total estimated loss was $650.

Theft -All Other

A victim of Theft -All Other on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 01/17/2023. The total estimated loss was $2,000. The subject stole $2,000.00 on November 30 from where she worked. 

A 43-year-old female was the victim of Theft – All Other on Tuscany Terrace was reported on 01/23/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,399. The theft location is 78th Way. The item was delivered to the wrong house. 

Criminal Mischief

A 19-year-old female was the victim of Criminal Mischief on NW 66th Street was reported on 01/22/2023. The vehicle was maliciously scratched on all body panels. The total estimated loss was $3,900 in damages.

Burglary Conveyance

A 74-year-old female was the victim of a Burglary Conveyance on Palm Blvd. The incident was reported on 01/19/2023. An unknown suspect entered the vehicle and then broke and cut the ignition system in an attempt to take the vehicle but failed.

A 25-year-old male was the victim of a Burglary Conveyance on NW 64th Avenue was reported on 01/20/2023. The total estimated loss was $850. An unknown subject broke out the front driver-side door window and removed several items from inside the car. 

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on Nob Hill Road was reported on 01/20/2023. The total estimated loss was $9,010. Unknown suspects smashed the window of the victim’s vans and removed tools from one of them.

A 32-year-old female was the victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 73 Terrace was reported on 01/23/2023. The total estimated loss was $500. The vehicle was left unlocked in the driveway overnight, and an unknown subject(s) entered the vehicle and stole a handgun from the center console.

A 29-year-old female was the victim of a Burglary Conveyance at NW 72 Avenue, which was reported on 01/23/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,000. The vehicle was left unlocked overnight, and an unknown subject(s) stole a laptop from inside a suitcase that was in the back seat of the vehicle.

Arrests

Lucius, Myrlanda, 18, was arrested on a charge of Larceny-Grand Theft 750 Less Than 5k Dollars on W Commercial Blvd on 01/17/2023.

Dudley, Shernette, 56, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence on NW 72nd Court on 01/17/2023.

Binger, Chanel Crystal, 31, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs  2nd Offense on N University Drive on 01/19/2023.

Johnson, Stacey-Ann Simone, 49, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Battery W/Deadly Weapon, Domestic Violence on NW 70th Avenue on 01/20/2023.

Roberts, Sadeke Yasani, 36, was arrested on a charge of Warrant/Written Threat To Kill on NW 68th Way on 01/20/2023.

Ventura, Jose Antonio, 24, was arrested on a charge of Battery-Cause Bodily Harm –Domestic Violence on NW 96th Avenue on 01/22/2023.

Jean Francois, Stephane Anthony, 37, was arrested on a charge of Battery-Cause Bodily Harm- Dating Violence on NW 66th Terrace on 01/22/2023.

Shellard, Nicole J., 45, was arrested on a charge of  Violation of Injunction Protection Domestic Violence on  S Belfort Circle on 01/23/2023.

Shirey, Shaun Hunter, 34, was arrested on a charge of Warrant/ Criminal Mischief Bond $2500 on W Commercial Blvd on 01/23/2023.
