Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through March 27.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N University Drive was reported on 03/24/2023. The total estimated loss was $500.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N University Drive was reported on 03/24/2023. The total estimated loss was $672. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a civilian Taser, another vehicle’s key, and a pair of Apple AirPods.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 03/26/2023. The total estimated loss was $889. In a burglary conveyance of three vehicles at Sawgrass Lanes, two windows were shattered, and a black handgun and several other miscellaneous items were taken.
Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on NW 61 Avenue was reported on 03/21/2023. The total estimated loss was $350. The Honda Civic factory rim was taken from the driver’s side front of the vehicle.
Robbery
A victim of Robbery on Woodmont Terrace was reported on 03/21/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,165. Five subjects robbed the victim at gunpoint in the parking lot of his apartment complex of $500 cash, his wallet containing his FL DL, and a handgun were stolen.
Auto Theft
A victim of Auto Theft on N University Drive was reported on 03/24/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,100. After stealing the key from another vehicle, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s car.
Theft
A victim of Theft – Bicycle was reported on 03/26/2023. The total estimated loss was $500. Victim advised that two bicycles were stolen from in front of his residence.
Theft on Rock Island Road was reported on 03/22/2023. The victim said his 2106 white Fast-trac Trailer was stolen from the parking lot.
Arrests
Sheppard, James Andrew, 32, was arrested on a Warrant/Driving Under The Influence charge on NW 72 Avenue on 03/22/2023.
Liburd, Travis Richard, 26, was arrested on a Robbery-By Sudden Snatching Wo Firearm Or Weapon charge on West Commercial Blvd on 03/27/2023.
Taylor, Virgil, 26, was arrested on a charge of Trespassing- After Warning-Structure Or Conveyance at N State Road 7 on 03/22/2023.
