Tamarac Crime Update for June 8

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through June 8.

Assault

8900 block of NW 79th St

On June 3, During an argument, the suspect retrieved a sword and assaulted his live-in girlfriend, resulting in an arrest.

Auto Theft

8050 W McNab Rd – Concord Village

On June 4, Video shows unknown suspects arrive in an S.U.V. then leave in the victim’s vehicle and the S.U.V.

Battery

6800 block of NW 74th Pl – Mainlands 16

On June 3, the victim advised her roommate got naked in her room, grabbed her by the shoulders, and attempted to throw her on the bed. Roommate is a veteran who may suffer from PTSD and has possession of a 9mm handgun inside the home. With the assistance of SWAT personnel, attempts to contact him unsuccessful.

8100 block of N University Dr – Flats on the Green

On May 3, the victim came to the station to report dating violence from a few days ago. While making the report, the victim decided she did not want to pursue criminal charges.

Burglary Conveyance

8304 Lagos De Campo Blvd – Parkwood at Colony West

On June 4, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s 2014 Black Honda Accord Sport by damaging the door lock on the driver’s side, without her permission, and stole the airbag from the steering wheel.

7800 block of Fairview Dr. – Colony Circle

On June 5, 2015, Gray Mercedes C300 Sedan was reported to be burglarized. The victim’s debit card and iPad were stolen from the center console. Latent Prints were unfounded.

1700 block of NW 45th Ct, – Tamarac Lakes Section 1

On June 7, an unknown subject(s) entered the driver side unlocked the door of the victim’s vehicle, a 2019 GMC Terrain, and stole two credit cards and a pair of sunglasses from within.

Property Damage

8000 block of NW 67th Ave – Heathgate/Sunflower

On June 4, the victim was driving around her neighborhood and believes someone shot her vehicle with a pellet gun after a verbal altercation with neighbors.

Burglary Residence

4400 block of Treehouse Lane

On June 4, an unknown subject(s) made entry to the victim’s residence (no forced entry) and ransacked the house stealing a TV, earrings, and three boxes of FedEx clothes. No suspects at this time.

5800 block of NW 72nd Ave

On June 5, BSO was dispatched to a residential alarm. Upon arrival, they found the rear kitchen window open, and it appeared someone climbed through the window to enter the residence without permission or consent of the owner.

Criminal Mischief

10800 block of Sea Hibiscus Ln – Captiva

On June 2, The listed victim had the windshield, and driver side window to a rental vehicle smashed.

Found Property

8100 NW 70th Ave. – Heathgate Sunflower

On June 2, a laptop was found near Heathgate Sunflower Club House.

Fraud

8700 block of NW 61st St

On June 2, an unknown subject(s) defrauded the victim over the phone, claiming to be from the Justice Department & Social Security Department. The victim’s total loss was $9,000.

Missing Person

7100 block of  NW 84th St

On June 4, a 25-year-old male left the drug rehab by jumping the fence. He has schizophrenia, major depression, a history of self-harm, and epilepsy. BSO searched but did not locate him. He was entered as missing.

Retail Theft

3101 W Commercial Blvd – 7-Eleven

On June 4, two female suspects entered the store, collected multiple items, and exited the store without paying.

3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On June 4, an unknown male suspect entered the Walgreens. He is known by the employees to steal hygiene products. The suspect was not seen stealing; however, items were missing in the aisle where the suspect stopped.

4999 N State Road 7 – 7-Eleven

ON June 4, the suspect removed multiple USB cables from the store and ran outside. The suspect was located by a Lauderdale Lakes Deputy, who was in the area of the business.

3915 W Commercial Blvd. – CVS

On June 6, an unknown female entered the store and stole approximately $91.50 worth of items.

Burglary Residence

Theft

4600 Woodlands Blvd – Woodlands Country Club

On June 6, BSO met with caller regarding an unknown subject who removed rims and tires from the caller’s boat trailer that was parked behind the Woodlands Country Club golf shack.
