Tamarac Crime Update: Pharmacy Employee Steals $17K

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through January 9.

Theft – All Other

A pharmacy was the victim of Theft – All Other on W Commercial Blvd on 01/03/2023. The total estimated loss was $17,165. The victim stated an employee stole $17,000.A victim of Theft – All Other on University Drive was reported on 01/03/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,000. 

A victim of Theft – All Other on NW 59th Place was reported on 01/03/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,055. 

A victim of Theft – All Other on Westwood Drive was reported on 01/05/2023. The total estimated loss was $4,000. A Gray Bully dog was stolen.

A victim of Theft – All Other on W Commercial Blvd. was reported on 01/09/2023. The total estimated loss was $3,600. 

A victim of Theft – All Other on Buttonwood Circle. The victim’s Worx Landroid Robot, valued at $950 from his front lawn area. The robot cuts the victim’s grass, but the battery went dead.

Auto Theft

A victim of Auto Theft on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 01/03/2023. Red Nissan Maxima was taken overnight by unknown suspects. 

A victim of Auto Theft on Woodmont Terrace was reported on 01/05/2023. 

A victim of Auto Theft on N Nob Hill Circle was reported on 01/06/2023. The Stolen Vehicle was a White Honda Accord.

A victim of Auto Theft – Motorcycle on NW 61st Street was reported on 01/08/2023. The motorcycle was stolen overnight.

Fraud – False Pretense 

A victim of Fraud – False Pretense on Southampton Terrace was reported on 01/03/2023. The total estimated loss was $65,000.

Fraud – All Other

A victim of Fraud – All Other on Weldon Circle was reported on 01/06/2023. The total estimated loss was $9,875. The victim lost her phone in Colombia on 12/27/2023. On 01/05/2023, she observed several transactions on her bank account via Zelle. The total amount stolen was $9,875.00.

Burglary Residence

A victim of Burglary Residence on Live Oak Court was reported on 01/03/2023. The total estimated loss was $500. An unknown person entered the screened-in patio and removed items.

Robbery

A victim of Robbery on W Commercial Blvd. was reported on 01/05/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,000. Victim advised that he was robbed near the area of W. Commercial Blvd then confirmed that the suspect pointed a revolver at him and pistol-whipped him in the face once. The suspect then told him to remove all the contents from his pockets and hand them over. Fearing for his life, he complied with the suspect`s demands and turned over the following property to the suspect: iPhone XR w/ the victim`s Bahamian Driver`s License, blue Debit card (Wisely Bank), and $500 cash.

Arrests

Mesa, Kevin Andre, a 40-year-old male, was arrested on a charge of Throwing a Deadly Missile on N State Road 7 on 01/03/2023.

Rodrigues Lorenzi, Marcos, 41-year-old male, was arrested on a charge of Agg Assault W/ Deadly Weapon- Domestic Violence, at NW 48th Steet, on 01/04/2023.

Ebel, Michael Anthony, 25-year-old male, was arrested on a charge of Robbery-with a Firearm, on W Commercial Blvd, on 01/06/2023. 

Arosemena Lezcano, Giancarlo, 41-year-old male, was arrested on a battery-cause Bodily Harm – Domestic Violence charges on Woodlands Blvd, on 01/08/2023.

Williams, Deanna, a 25-year-old female, was arrested on a Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence charge on Isles Circle on 01/08/2023.

Campanele, Wayne Alan, 61-year-old male, was arrested on a charge of Battery-on Person 65 Years Of Age Or Older, at NW 55th St, on 01/09/2023.
