Tamarac Crime Update Through April 29

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through April 29.

Auto Theft

8500 NW 75th Av. Southgate Gardens

On April 23, an officer responded in reference an auto theft that occurred around the corner at the apartment complex clubhouse. The vehicle was left unoccupied, unlocked, and with the keys on the driver’s side floorboard.

8010 NW 74th Ter. Heathgate/Sunflower Basketball Court Parking Lot

On April 15 and reported April 24, an unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames at the Commercial Boulevard entrance to the Florida Turnpike by FHP

5780 Rock Island Rd. Sunvista Condominiums

On April 26, a 2018 Silver Honda 4-dr, was stolen from Sun Vista.

6700 Block of NW 61st St. The Mainlands

Between April 27 and April 28 suspect(s) broke front drivers side window leaving glass on the street and stole the vehicle.

Battery

8800 Block of NW 78th Pl. Hidden Harbor

On April 23, BSO responded to a domestic disturbance call between a male and female, where the male was scratched by the female on his arm and neck. Female was taken to Main Jail for booking and processing.

4235 W Commercial Blvd. Subway

On April 25, female reported that an unknown black female subject deployed pepper spray after not being satisfied with the service she provided her.

Burglary Residence

6800 Block of NW 80th Ct. Westwood

On April 23, an unknown suspect(S) broke the victim’s rear sliding glass door and burglarized her home. Scene was processed.

7800 Block of  NW 71st Ave. Heathgate

On April 23, BSO responded in reference to a burglary residence where the backdoor was left unlocked. All three bedrooms were ransacked, and a white gold wedding ring, silver necklace, and Costa sunglasses were stolen.

Burglary Conveyance

5701 Madison Ave. Hampton Inn

On April 24, at approx. 6:00 a.m., two vehicles were broken into in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn. A rear window to a black Dodge ram and the rear window to a 2013 Ford F-250 was smashed out. Property was removed from the second vehicle. A video camera showed the burglary to the F-250 happened at 5:59am.

9141 W Commercial Blvd. Jackson Land Development LLC

On April 24, sometime between noon and 1p.m., a suspect removed concrete saw from unlocked tool box in rear of work truck, which was parked in open field. Scene processed. No video or witnesses.

9090 Lime Bay Blvd. Lime Bay

Between April 25 and April 26, suspects entered unlocked Hyundai and removed victim’s wallet w/cash and credit cards sometime overnight.

9101 Lime Bay Blvd. Lime Bay

On April 26, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the glove box and stole $82.50 worth of quarters that were in the center console. The vehicle was processed and no latent prints were lifted.

7900 Block of NW 69th Terr. Heathgate

Between April 26 and April 27, the victim advised that he left his vehicle unlocked and his wallet was stolen out of it overnight.

800 Block of NW 76th Ct. Woodmont

On April 27, two Vehicles were broken into at 2 a.m. A handgun and a roadside emergency kit were stolen from a Grey/Black Dodge Hellcat. A black Volkswagen Phaeton was also broken into, but nothing was stolen. Subjects also attempted to enter a Silver Volkswagen Passat but were unable to make entry. Latent prints were taken and put into evidence.

Fraud – All Other

6900 Block of NW 78th St. Heathgate

On April 24, the victim was scammed out of $1,400.

6800 Block of NW 84th St. Heathgate/Sunflower

On April 26, victim received numerous debit cards from banks that she has not authorized to be open. No funds were taken but her information is being used fraudulently.

Drugs / Narcotics

5339 N Sr 7

On April 27, after causing a disturbance Damon Nicholas was placed under arrest for Disorderly Intoxication and for narcotics offenses.

Domestic Disturbance

6040 Shakerwood Cir. Shaker Village

On April 26, a couple were involved in a verbal altercation.

Information

8400 Lagos De Campo Blvd. Rokest Condominiums

Reported on April 23, victim wanted to document the occurrence of cards fraudulently being opened using his name and address, but he is no longer being held liable.

7300 Block of NW 63rd St.

On April 23, While the reporting person was conducting a child exchange with the ex-wife, she ran his foot over with the vehicle. Unknown if it was intentional or not.

11000 Block of Lighthouse Ct.

Between April 19 and April 20, a female met another female at church, then began getting strange messages from possibly the same female. The female claimed she wanted to kill Chinese people and sent other strange messages over WeChat, a Chinese web chat site. The reporting person is not sure if she is dealing with the same person she met at the church, due to her giving a bogus telephone number and possible name also.

6000 Block of NW 54th Ln.

On April 24, a male reported that he provided personal information to a caller pretending to be from the social security administration.

6195 Rock Island Rd.

Between April 24, and April 25, resident had two accounts opened in his name in recent days that he claims he did not open.

5510 NW 31st Ave.

On April 25, a juvenile female was missing for approximately five hours, but was returned home.

8171 N University Dr. Flats On The Green

Between April 25 and reported April 26, a vehicle registered to a tenant at the complex hit the fence entering the security gate. The management company tried to get in touch with the owner the vehicle, but they ignored their calls. Incident is on video surveillance and pictures were taken by management of the vehicle, with the damage to the right side of the vehicle.

4900 Block of NW 52 Court. Sabal Palm

On April 29, reporting person stated her neighbor threatened to kill her cat and get her because her cat was on his property last night. LW 071904002360

Loitering / Prowling

5700 Block of NW 58th. Woodland Meadows

On April 25, an unknown black male was peeping in the window of an apartment, where a female was sleeping.

Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts

8300 Block of Sands Point Blvd

On April 23, the caller observed a black vehicle leave the parking spot near the victim’s vehicle which was now on landscaping pavers. The caller attempted to follow the suspect vehicle but lost sight of it. The victim was notified that his wheels were stolen and was issued a case card.

Theft – Retail / Shoplifting

3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS

On April 24, an unknown suspect walked into the store and stole several items valued at $48.05.

On April 26, an unknown white male exited all points of sale with a CVS basket filled with merchandise. Subject was last seen headed in an eastbound direction on foot from the store.

On April 27, CVS manager, reported an unknown white male came inside the store concealed items inside his pants and walked out without paying for them. The approximate loss is $95.77.

Theft – All Other

6193 Rock Island Rd.

Between April 19 and April 24, an unknown subject stole the victim’s license plate while it was parked at her residence.

8060 NW 96th Ter. Coral Vista Apartments

Between April 12 and April 25, an unknown subject stole victim’s license plate while it was parked at hIs residence.

4600 Woodlands Blvd. Woodlands Country Club

On April 28, Prestige Party Rentals reported several items rented for a wedding party at the clubhouse were taken by unknown subjects from the previous event.

Between April 28 and April 29, victim was hosting a wedding event at the Woodlands Country Club and left her purse there. She came back for it the next day and it was missing.

Arrests

Rinaldi, Jessica Nicole, 22, arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic violence at 8861 Nw 78th Pl, Tamarac, on 04/23/2019.

Santana, John Fisher, 49, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic violence, at 5508 Red Oak Cir in the Woodlands Country Club on 04/24/2019.

Singh, Tejinder P. 43, was arrested on charges of DUI Alcohol Or Drugs 1st Offense (at 7800 N University Dr. Tamarac, on 04/26/2019.

Rodarte, Carlos Abraham, 38, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic violence, at 7106 Nw 63rd St, Tamarac, on 04/28/2019.
