Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through April 7.
Battery
7201 N University Drive. University Hospital.
A 54-year-old woman was a victim of battery on April 2, after two family members engaged in a physical altercation after one did not want the other visiting another family member in the hospital.
5825 N. University Drive Midway Plaza.
On April 3, the 23-year-old victim advised he had an argument with his girlfriend. She got angry and threw a rock at him, which hit the back of his head, causing him to receive a lump and an abrasion. Reported April 6.
6997 W. Commercial Blvd, Tamarac Chow Time restaurant.
Deputies responded to a fight which began as a verbal altercation and escalated to a physical fight between four employees. Deputies were unable to determine primary aggressor due to lack of an independent witness and conflicting accounts. There were no visible injuries on either individual, all parties were separated and provided case cards.
6000 Block of NW 74th Ave. Vanguard Village.
On April 5, subject arrested for dating violence against girlfriend. Victim was uncooperative and forced entry into residence was made to verify the well-being of involved parties and apprehend the subject.
Criminal Mischief
7579 Nw 79th Av, Tamarac, FL Bonair Woodmont.
On April 2, unknown subject(s) used a sharp instrument to damage/flatten times. Multiple vehicles damaged.
Criminal Mischief
8000 Nob Hill Road. Nob Hill Condos.
The reporting person advised of damage to the women’s restroom in the clubhouse on April 3, with approximately $300 in damages. The suspect is a former tenant.
Theft
4890 N Sr 7, Aaron’s.
Complainant advised an unknown person(s) stole tag and decal off work truck between March 30 and April 2. Reported April 3.
6000 Block of Nw 78th Ter, Tamarac, FL
A license plate was stolen from a vehicle while parked in the driveway between April 3 and April 4.
4211 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL BB&T Bank
Deputy with a BB&T employee in reference unknown black female entering the bank on April 3, and attempted to cash a fraudulent check using a fraudulent Florida Drivers License. The victim was a 58-year-old white female.
Suspicious Incident
5700 Block of Nw 81st Ave, Mainlands 10.
On April 4, two unknown juveniles suspects have a suitcase. They appear to open it, rummage thru it, and then ran away last seen headed eastbound. A few hours later, an unknown adult subject sees the suitcase and takes it westbound.
Burglary Conveyance
4500 Block of Nw 48th Terrace,
Victim reported unknown suspect broke into his Ford F150 between April 3 and April 4. The approximate loss for the stolen items is $113.
8100 Block of Nw 59th Ct.
Victim had a blue steel Llama .380 semi-automatic handgun taken out of the glove compartment in his vehicle overnight between April 6 and April 7.
7801 Nw 80th Ave. Woodmont County Club
On April 7, four cars were burglarized in the parking lot. Credit cards, Apple Air Pods and sneakers were taken.

7300 Block of NW 58th Street Mainlands 9
On April 4, unknown suspect smashed rear sliding door. Nothing appeared to be taken.
Auto theft
6320 Brookwood Blvd
Victim parked his 2017 black Infinity QX60 at the community clubhouse and it was stolen between 9:30 p.m. April 1, and 9:00 a.m. on April 2 by unknown suspect(s).
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS
On April 5, an unidentified white male subject entered the store and asked to see where the diapers were. The subject proceeded to take two packages of the diapers and ran out of the store without making an attempt to pay.
Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts
8751 Holly Ct. Woodmont
On April 5, unknown subject(s) removed the lug nuts from three rims that were affixed to the vehicle. Subject(s) were unable to remove the rims completely from the vehicle

8600 Block of S. Southgate Shores Cir
Unknown suspect(s) stole the license plate off of the victim’s motorcycle on March 28, 2019. Reported April 5.
Trespassing
5223 N Sr 7, Tamarac, FL Sunrise Liquors
On April 5, a suspect was arrested for trespassing after warning.
Fraud – All Other
3914 W. Commercial Blvd Walgreens
On April 6, a victim from Fort Worth, Texas reported that her credit card number was used at Walgreens in Tamarac while it was still in her possession in Texas on April 5.
Lost Property
8060 Fairview Dr Versailles Gardens Condominium
On April 7, victim wanted to report he lost his wallet that morning leaving his residence when he placed the wallet on top of his vehicle.
Fraud – Worthless Check
7301 Nw 59th St.
On April 3, victim advised someone cashed a counterfeit check totaling $2,414.05 at BB&T bank.
Information
4000 block of NW 27 Ave
On April 2, a resident advised someone had reported a lost bank card and a forwarded a new bank card to an address in Pompano Beach.
7850 building at W. McNab Road Concord Village
Resident received a threatening phone message from another person.
