Tamarac Crime Update Through June 10

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through June 10.  Names of those not arrested have been redacted.

 Aggravated Battery

5100 block of Island Club Dr.

On June 4, BSO responded to the listed location in reference to a dating violence incident. After completing the investigation, the suspect was charged accordingly and transported to BSO Main Jail.

8000 block of NW 108th Av,

On June 5, a man attacked his mother with a foldable pocket knife. He fled on foot; whereabouts were unknown.

Animal Bite

8101 Southgate Blvd. Dog Park

On June 5, reported June 8, a female was bitten by a dog at the dog park. Female did not report until June 8 due to being in shock at the time of the incident and having gone to the hospital. Owner of the dog and their information was provided by the female who was bitten. Dog’s owner was contacted by phone, and their side of the story was documented. Report of Animal Bite form was completed.

Battery

5801 N University Dr. Publix

On June 8, the victim complained about three subjects(1 Male, 2 Females) jumping him while playing his guitar.

Domestic Disturbance

5800 block of Swordfish Ct.

On June 5, a domestic disturbance between B/M and B/F over who is supposed to have two B/F juveniles for the summer break.

Drugs/Narcotics Offenses

8701 W Commercial Blvd.

On June 5, the driver was involved in a traffic crash and arrested for driving under the influence. The vehicle was inventory searched due being towed, and Xanax was located inside the driver purse.

Fraud

6800 block of NW 69th Ct.

On June 5, the resident believed an employee stole a blank check which was cashed for $2,000.

5041 N Sr 7.Noodle House

On June 6, a subject attempted to cash a stolen $674.03 check from Pho Inc. DBA Noodle House.

Found Property

5700 block of Bayberry Ln. Woodlands

On May 5, During routine patrol, a large LG LD520 TV was located at the front yard of a random resident.

Information

6254 Hiatus Rd.

On June 5, Employee was fired and started making death threats via social media toward the former boss.

6800 block of NW 81st Ct

On June 5, the couple received a credit card in the mail they didn’t order.

3908 W Commercial Blvd.

On June 6, the victim noticed fraudulent charges on her bank account from retail and insurance businesses. Was told by the bank that someone was using her routing number to pay bills.

8200 block of Prestige Commons Dr.

Resident wanted to document identity theft using his name on his daughter’s bank account.

Recovered Auto

8399 N University Dr.

Reported June 8, Information was obtained by BSO district 11 that a stolen vehicle was located at 8399 N. University Dr. Upon checking the area; the car was located and towed for processing

Theft

3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS

On June 4, a female subject entered the store and took one liquid tide detergent, placed in her bag and left the store without paying. She had one male accomplice.

6800 block of NW 73rd St.

On June 4, the resident visited BSO and reported unknown suspect stole solar lights from her yard on May 25. The theft was captured on her video.

3914 W Commercial Blvd. Walgreens

On June 4, an unknown suspect walked into the store and stole several items valued at $320.

3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS

On June 4, two black females entered the store, stole cosmetic items and left, failing to pay for the items.

On June 5, BSO responded to the CVS Pharmacy in reference to a theft delayed incident. Upon their arrival, they contacted the manager who stated one white male entered the store and stole two several hygiene products, body wash, toothpaste, body oil, and underwear valued at $71.82.

5800 block of Australian Pine Dr. Woodlands

Between June 4 and June 5, the victim wanted to report FedEx package stolen from the porch, which contained her debit card.

10601 State St.

Reported June 5, unknown suspect(s) removed a green patio umbrella with umbrella base from the patio area of the business.

5600 block of White Cedar Ln. Woodlands

On June 5, the victim advised that her friend left with her money that was inside his vehicle and when she called him he advised he would return it to her but has not as of yet, and he has blocked all communications with her since.

5755 N University Dr. Ross Dress for Less

On June 5, advised while shopping at Ross between noon and 1:30 pm an unknown suspect removed wallet w/contents from her purse, which was in a shopping cart unattended.

Burglary Conveyance

7000 block of NW 58th Ct. Mainlands

On June 4, a vehicle was broken into, no forced entry. No items were taken from the vehicle. No suspect information at this time.

8700 block of NW 61st St. 72 West Apartments

On June 4, a victim reported a burglary to her 2015 Hyundai Elantra.

7900 block of NW 83rd St. Woodmont

On June 4, an unknown male subject was seen in the victim’s vehicle. The subject fled in a getaway car. No items were stolen.

7100 block of NW 72nd St. Mainlands

On June 5, the victim advised that his unlocked vehicle was burglarized while it was parked in his driveway, during the burglary the unknown suspects discovered a spare car key to his other vehicle that was parked in the driveway as well and stole it.

5700 block of NW 54th Ter,

On June 5, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) broke into her vehicle between 06/04/19 and 06/05/19. No items appeared to be stolen at the time of the report.

8200 block of Waterford Ln. Waterford Isles

On June 5, three vehicles were broken into overnight. At 11:12 pm, video captured four suspects checking cars and entering an unlocked Toyota. A Laptop, Samsung, and sunglasses were taken from several vehicles. The stolen Samsung was traced via an app and located in Lauderhill.

5800 block of NW 57th Av.

On June 5, an unknown person(s) entered the victims unlocked vehicle and once inside ransacked the vehicle. Nothing was missing at this time.

4800 block of NW 57th Ct.

On June 5, BSO responded out to document a delayed burglary to a vehicle.

Fraud

4900 block of E Sabal Palm Blvd. Sabal Palm Apartments

On June 4, victim advised she received mail from HSBC regarding an account which was fraudulently opened without her knowledge.

Robbery

7600 block of NW 79th Av. Bonaire

On June 2, BSO responded to the location of in reference to a theft (strong arm robbery). Victim advised that he was robbed and stated he and his friend were sitting down at the above location when two unknown males approached him and his friend.
