Tamarac Crime Update Through May 19

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac from May 14 through May 20.

Aggravated Assault

8265 Cassia Ter.

On May 17, James Mathews committed battery and aggravated assault upon his wife. James was taken into custody and transported to the Broward County Main Jail for processing.

Animal Bite

4714 NW 49th Pl.

On May 15, a Realtor went to show a house, in which a dog from the same house bit her in the leg. Complainant/Realtor was then transported to the hospital.

Auto Theft

9900 block of NW 77th St.

On May 20, Victim stated his car was stolen by an unknown subject who took his keys from the basketball court. The victim saw his vehicle leaving the parking lot, headed north on Nob Hill Rd.

Battery

6455 W Commercial Blvd. Moments Restaurant

On May 18, an estranged husband followed wife to business, and forcibly grabbed her arm.

Burglary Business

7305 W Commercial Blvd. Pep Boys

On May 14, BSO responded to unoccupied burglary regarding two male suspects stealing used tires from an attached structure on the west side of the Pep Boys building.

Burglary Conveyance

6100 block of Rock Island Rd, The Gate Condos

On May 15, BSO met with the caller who advised sometime on yesterday’s date his work truck was burglarized while working on the job site. Subject advised he wanted to report the incident in case items stolen were left at home.

9901 NW 77th St.

On May 20, the victim stated that an unknown person(s) entered his vehicle in the parking lot. His wallet, containing $40 cash, license, CCW, credit cards, and various other cards and an iPhone 8 was taken from the center console as well as $200 cash taken from the glove compartment of his vehicle. Vehicle was processed. Prints submitted.

2401 W Commercial Blvd

On May 17, the victim reported unknown black male broke into her vehicle via an unlocked door and removed a purse for an approximate loss of $1,123.

Burglary Residence

8100 block of NW 74th Ave. Heathgate/Sunflower

On May 16, a white female driving a white mini-van removed five solar lights and two planters containing plants from the property. Value of loss $130.00. Incident captured on surveillance video.

5100 block of Nw 52nd. Manor Parc

On May 17, BSO met with on site Construction Manager of 13th Floor Homes in reference unknown subjects removed the a/c condenser and a/c handler from one of the units under construction. Caller just needed a report for insurance purposes.

Counterfeiting

3800 W Commercial Blvd

On May 14, the suspect was arrested for active warrants and knowingly and unlawfully possessing a counterfeit Florida DL.

Fraud

5773 N University Dr. T-Mobil

On May 16, BSO was dispatched to make contact with T-Mobil store in reference to a fraud by an ex-employee.

5600 block of Rock Island Rd

Between May 18 and May 20, a resident of North Carolina called to report that her name and social security was used to open credit cards and applying for Florida State Benefits using a Tamarac address.

Information

7600 block of W Commercial Blvd

On May 15, reference to threats received from a person. There was no restraining order on file and they could not locate the person.

3833 W Commercial Blvd. Bank of America

On May 15, an unknown person made fraudulent withdrawals from the reporting person’s account at an ATM in Tamarac.

7301 N University Dr. University Hospital

On May 16, man was found unresponsive at the north side door. CPR was initiated and man was transferred to hospital.

7001 W Commercial Blvd. TD Bank

On May 15, person reporting stated she lost her TD Bank ATM Card and on May 15, and an unknown person deposited a check into her checking account via the ATM. Addison stated there was no loss and TD Bank required a Police report was written, so they could take the freeze off of her bank account

6455 W Commercial Blvd. Moments

On May 18, BSO investigated allegations of Moments operating as a nightclub in violation of Tamarac city ordinances.

6800 block of NW 81st Ct,

On May 10, the resident reported that an unknown person opened an account with BB&T using her identity.

8191 W. Commercial Blvd. Town Suites

Left unattended in the parking lot. Prints lifted from interior and exterior of vehicle.

Theft Retail Shoplifting

3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS Pharmacy

On May 16, BSO was called in reference to a theft.

Theft from Building

3914 W. Commercial Blvd. Walgreens

On May 16, BSO responded to Walgreens in reference to a theft.

10600 block of State St.

Between May 13, and May 14, an unknown person(s) stole money from locked file cabinet

Theft – All Other

8700 block of Holly Ct. Holly Court Apartments

Between May 6 and May 7, an unknown suspect(s) stole a package that was left at his front door by the United States Postal Service containing a pair of Adidas sneakers valued at $160.

5100 block of NW 51st Ter. Manor Parc

On May 3, reported May 17, BSO met with the caller who advised unknown subject removed his generator from his rear patio approximately two weeks ago. The caller just got back from Indiana and noticed it missing.

4400 block of Treehouse Ln. Arbor Keys

Between April 26, and May 14, a woman advised on April 26, 2019, she had numerous people at her residence due to a death in her family and said unknown suspect(s) stole her sixteen-year-old son’s Social Security Card and Green Card that were left on her master bedroom dresser.

Violation of Court Order

5700 block of NW 58th Av. Woodlands Meadows

On May 12, ex-girlfriend attempted to contact him through third-party text messages while a no-contact order is in place.

Arrests

Rubaine, Shamal Makimba, 30, was arrested on charges of Warrant Poss Cocaine, Poss Cannabis, Poss Para at 5600 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 05/14/2019.

Henry, Marlon Floyd, 45, was arrested on charges of Burgl-structure Unoccupied/unarmed at 7305 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/14/2019.

Samuels, Alfredo Almondo, 61, was arrested on charges of Burgl-structure Unoccupied/unarmed at 7305 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/14/2019.

Hernandez Lamadrid, Jesus, 67, was arrested on charges of Burgl-structure Unoccupied/unarmed, at 6852 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 05/14/2019.

Spillman, Jabraina Chimere, 34, Arrest on charges of Possess Counterfeit DL 3300 Block Of Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/14/2019.

Hollingsworth, Paul Damon, was arrested on charges of Warrant at 6700 N Pine Island Rd, Tamarac, on 05/16/2019.

Marti, Jonathan David, 24, was arrested on charges of Possess W/intent Sell Manuf Deliver Cannabis (F), at 7600 Southgate Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/17/2019.

Mathews, James, 51, was arrested on charges of Agg Assault W/ Intent Commit Felony – Domestic Violation 8265 Cassia Ter, Tamarac, on 05/17/2019.

Murphy, O’Neil Junior, 22, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol, at 6455 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/18/2019

Schneider, Sandra Ann, 52, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol at 9822 Nw 65th Ct, Tamarac, on 05/19/2019.
