Tamarac Crime Update Through October 12

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crimes through October 12.

Aggravated Assault

5500 Rock Island Rd – Roadway

On October 7, the victim advised that while he was traveling north on Rock Island Road, the suspect vehicle made a U-Turn in front of him, which caused him to slow down abruptly. When the victim confronted the suspect driver, he pointed a black firearm at him, shot at his vehicle one time, and fled the area eastbound on Commercial Blvd.

8599 N University Dr/Southgate Blvd

On October 8, an unknown male driving a red Toyota Yaris pointed a black gun at her while traveling northbound on N University Dr.

Animal Bite

5100 block of E Sabal Palm Blvd

On October 9, the victim was bitten by her neighbor’s dog. BSO made contact with the dog’s owner and completed the necessary paperwork.

Battery Dating Violence/ Auto Theft

5100 W Commercial Blvd

On October 7, the victim advised that her boyfriend of one year grabbed her by the neck and began to choke her, causing her to stop breathing. The boyfriend then took the victim’s car without her permission. The victim signed an auto theft affidavit. An Out of Custody arrest was generated.

8100 NW 68th Ave

On October 9, a vehicle was stolen by unknown suspect (s) at the victim’s driveway. The vehicle was left unlocked with keys inside the vehicle.

Battery

7900 block of NW 67th Ave

On October 8, an offender battered the victim after a verbal argument over dogs fighting. Out of custody, PC generated for the offender.

Domestic Battery – Prospect Apartments

5500 block of NW 31st Ave

On October 10, BSO investigated allegations of a father pushing the mother of a child in common. A Not In Custody for Domestic Battery was issued for the father who had fled the scene before BSO’s arrival.

Burglary Conveyance

8400 block of NW 61st St – Spectra

On October 10, victims advised that their vehicles were burglarized by unknown person(s). The 2000 Celica’s wheels and tires were stolen ($265.00ea), and $50.00 worth of tools. The 2007 Scion TC’s left door handle was broken, but nothing was stolen. The vehicle was processed for latent prints. No suspects or surveillance at this time.

Burglary Residence

6300 block of NW 74th Ave

On October 6, the victims reported three male subjects attempted to enter the residence through her rear patio door while she was home. Area canvassed for vehicle and subjects with negative results. Video footage captured suspects in the driveway and vehicle.

7100 block of S Devon Dr – Kings Point

On October 8, the victim advised unknown suspect(s) entered her residence and stole $100 and multiple pieces of jewelry from her safe. There was no forced entry into the residence. The safe was processed for latent prints.

Information

4800 block of NW 27th Way

On October 1, the victim wanted to document a Craig’s List ad for the above address for rent. The house was sold on 10/07/2020, and he did not create the ad.

Robbery

7800 block of NW 70th Ter

On October 8, the victim stated a known individual knew he had money and tried to break into the residence. The victim was threatened with a knife and a long roofing nail, so he ran away and entered the residence from a rear sliding door. Later it was determined that the victim and suspect were inside the residence together hanging out, according to the victim’s mother, who witnessed it.

Theft

7400 block of Corkwood Ter

Between September 24 and September 24, the victim advised that jewelry was stolen from her vehicle on 09/19/2020. The vehicle was not processed due to a time delay.

8100 block of N University Dr

On October 6, packages were taken from outside of residence by unknown suspect(s).

4999 N State Road – 7-Eleven

On October 9, a white male subject entered the 7 Eleven and grabbed miscellaneous food items, and then proceeded to exit the store, passing all points of sale.

3915 W Commercial Blvd – CVS

On October 11, a black male subject entered the CVS, grabbed various hair product items, and then proceeded to exit the store, passing all points of sale.

Arrests

An unnamed (W M, 32) was arrested on charges of Battery-touch Or Strike at 5100 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 10/07/2020.

Nelson, Jaquwan Deon (B M, 23) was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery By Strangulation-dating Relation at 8300 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 10/08/2020.

An unnamed (B F, 30) was arrested on charges of Battery-touch Or Strike at 7905 NW 67th Av, Tamarac, on 10/08/2020.

An unnamed (B M, 33) was arrested on Touch Or Strike/battery/dating Viol (M) charges at 5540 NW 31st Ave, Tamarac, on 10/10/2020.

Bedassee, Tennyson Maurice (B M, 37) was arrested on Warrant charges – Vop 1ct Grand Theft Motor Vehicle (F), at 7200 W McNab Rd, Tamarac, on 10/11/2020.
