Tamarac Crime Update Through October 19

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crimes through October 19.

Auto Theft

7600 block of NW 96th Ter

On October 16, The Victim reported his vehicle was stolen from the front of his home during midnight and early morning.

4900 block of E Sabal Palm Blvd – Lakes of Carriage Hills

On October 16, the victim advised that an unknown subject stole her 2019 gray Acura RDX.

Battery

4500 block of Treehouse Ln – Arbor Keys

On October 15, the victim advised her on and off girlfriend of two years struck her in her face when she refused to leave. The suspect was on the scene and arrested.

4121 W Commercial Blvd – Sunshine Plaza Parking Lot

On October 16, BSO Investigated allegations of a simple battery between a Publix employee and a customer.

Address Not Revealed

On October 15, the 17-year-old victim said he stepped outside of his residence and was punched in the face by a male he had been arguing with on social media.

Burglary Conveyance

8100 block of W McNab Rd – Concord Village

On October 13, an unknown subject(s) smashed the victim’s vehicle’s window to gain entry. Miscellaneous tools and two blowers were taken.

8300 block of Sands Point Blvd – Sands Point

On October 14, masks and cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. This occurred during overnight hours. The suspects are two unknown males.

Criminal Mischief

9100 block of NW 67th Ct

On October 16, an unknown suspect cut the victim’s vehicle tire and the convertible top, scratched the paint, and put sugar in the gas tank.

Driving Under the Influence/Hit and Run

7900 block of Nob Hill Rd

On October 18, a driver hit a car while pulling out of space and left. The driver was found going out of the complex entrance and was DUI with a .190% blood alcohol level.

Grand Theft

8085 W McNab Rd – Golf Trader

On October 13, Golf Trader owner reported a theft in progress, in which the unknown subject posed as a customer interested in purchasing golf equipment. As the subject walked up to the register counter holding the merchandise, he dashed out the door and left the area in a Nissan Altima. Merchandise total value loss was $906.61.

7200 block of W McNab Rd

On October 17, the victim reported to BSO she let her nephew sell her business contents, such as cubicles and computers. He took approximately $10,000 and disappeared.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts

5400 block of N Sr 7 – Lakeside Plaza

On October 13, a Catalytic Converter with the O2 sensor attached was sawed off from the exhaust of a Uhaul truck.

Theft

4800 block of NW 28th Ave

On October 12, a male ran into the victim’s driveway and stole a Ryobi Pressure washer.

Theft Retail Shoplifting

3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On October 14, a male jumped in the back of the register, took several tobacco products, and left the store. The subject has shoplifted at the store in the past, according to the employees.

2400 W Commercial Blvd – Dominos

On October 14, BSO contacted the loss prevention agent for Domino’s, who stated the offender took a total of $114 from the store’s register on 10/11/20.

4121 W Commercial Blvd – Publix Liquor Store

On October 16, an unknown subject entered the business carrying reusable shopping bags, selected multiple liquor bottles, and exited the business making no attempt to pay for concealed bottles. The subject entered the rear passenger seat of the vehicle waiting in front of the business and fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Arrests

Napoleon, Shaniece Renee (B F, 23) was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/dating Viol at 4531 Treehouse Ln, Tamarac, on 10/15/2020.

Fritz, Chavez Luther (B M, 28) was arrested on charges of Battery-cause Bodily Harm – Domestic Violence at 661 W Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, on 10/17/2020.

Heredia Moran, Jeyson Jair (W M, 27) was arrested on charges of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs Offense at 7980 Nob Hill Rd, Tamarac, on 10/18/2020.
