A Tamarac man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after authorities say he fatally stabbed his mother during a domestic incident Friday evening.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a stabbing in the 5300 block of Northwest 28th Avenue on October 9.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a woman suffering from stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators later identified the victim as Ylda Cabello-Ynocente, the mother of the accused attacker, Manuel Farfan-Cabello, 28.
According to BSO, Farfan-Cabello was located at the scene and detained as deputies began investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
Authorities determined the incident was domestic in nature and subsequently arrested Farfan-Cabello on a charge of first-degree murder.
Investigators have not disclosed what led to the deadly confrontation or whether there had been previous domestic incidents involving the family.
The BSO Homicide Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Cabello-Ynocente’s death.
