Tamarac Mayor Gomez Shares Important Updates for September

Mayor Michelle J. Gomez

Dear Neighbors:

Back to school has taken on a new meaning this year. We appreciate the outstanding efforts and coordination among faculty, students, and families. Thank you for working together through the changes.

Tamarac families are encouraged to register for the City’s Learn, Play, Engage (L.P.E.) Kids Program, located at Tamarac Park (7501 N. University Dr.), available for students in grades 3-6. The L.P.E. program offers children the opportunity to carry out their virtual education and interact with other students while maintaining health protocols and social distancing. Open to residents and non-residents. To register, visit LPEtamarac or call (954) 597-3674.

A big thank you to everyone supporting local commerce through our Tamarac Together campaign, and to all the businesses complying with the CDC guidelines for providing a safe environment for patrons.

Important Reminders:

While Labor Day traditionally celebrates the strength of the unionized workforce, please take time to thank everyone for continuing to work hard during this unprecedented time. To our Frontline Heroes, First Responders, and Essential Workers, we are grateful for your efforts, sacrifices, and commitment. We love you!

On September 11th, and every day, please take a moment to:

remember those who died unnecessarily;

thank all of our first responders and servicemen and women who protect us;

thank those who are preparing to be our future defenders;

thank their families as well;

thank the unsung heroes, and

remain proud to be living in our wonderful country!

L’Shana Tovah to everyone celebrating the Jewish New Year.

Warm regards and remain safe,

Michelle
