Tamarac Mom Reports Man Who Asks Her Daughter to Get Inside His Vehicle

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through April 19, 2021.

On April 14, in the community of Flats on the Green, a mother wanted to report an unknown person driving a white or gray pick-up truck with an unknown make, model, or tag, who asked her daughter to get in the vehicle. The unknown person left the area without any other incident.

Aggravated Battery

University Dr

On April 15, the offender attacked the victim for no reason and put him in a chokehold which obstructed his airway. The offender was arrested and taken to BSO Main Jail without incident. 

Auto Theft

W McNab Road

On April 15, unknown suspects stole the victim’s 2020 Nissan Murano.  

NW 73rd Street

On April 17, An unknown suspect drilled and removed the ignition on a vehicle but could not take it. 

Burglary Conveyance

NW 47th Ct

On April 16, BSO contacted the homeowner during an area check that his vehicle had also possibly been broken into. Photos of the scene uploaded to Evidence.com. No latent prints are located. Total Loss $300

Gate Lake Rd

On April 17, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and stole a handicap placard that was on top of the dashboard. The vehicle was processed for latent prints. Tot.Est.Loss: $100. 

White Hickory Cir – The Woodlands

On April 18, BSO contacted the resident about a 2019 Nissan Sentra being burglarized. All that is being reported stolen is a $10 black wallet containing vehicle-related documents (registration, proof of insurance, etc…). No signs of forced entry were observed, and the resident has both sets of vehicle keys.  Tot.Est.Loss: $11. 

Criminal Mischief

9400 block of N Belfort Cir – Belfort

On April 18, an unknown young skinny white male with brown hair and between 13 – 17 spray-painted the East Gate at Belfort Community located at 9443 N Belfort Circle and fled south into the neighboring communities. 

Cassia Court  – Woodmont

On April 15, the victim’s living room window had two pellet-sized holes in the glass that occurred approximately two weeks ago. 

Domestic Violence by Strangulation

NW 96th Ter

On April 16, the suspect threw a phone at the victim, punched her in the back of her head, strangled her from the back, blocking her airway, which caused her to fall to the ground.

Found Property

7900 Hibiscus Way – The Pines at Woodmont 

On April 12, Reporting person, while in his yard, found an Amazon Fire 7 tablet on the ground. The Amazon Fire 7 tablet was still in the original box, but no identifier to whom it belongs to. Property Receipt was completed, and the property was entered into ACE for safekeeping. 

7801 W Commercial Blvd

On April 15, the caller found abandoned property in the parking lot, possibly belonging to an unknown person in the parking lot, causing a disturbance.

Information

NW 47th St – Manor Parc

On April 14, BSO was dispatched after a call regarding a shooting. Contact was made with occupants of the home and revealed it to be a swatting/hoax call. They were advised someone he was talking to online “doxxed” him and initiated the call. 

W Commercial Blvd

On April 15, an unknown male attempted to shoplift when the male noticed he was being watched. The subject put the items back and while walking out of the store. The subject yelled to the victim something about a gun and could come back if he wanted to. 

Missing Person

8200 block of NW 59th St

On April 15, a 31-year-old-year-old female with a medical condition walked away from her grandmother’s home and hasn’t been seen or heard from. 

9057 Nw 57th St – Active Senior Living Residence

On April 17, active senior living residence reported that resident a resident signed out of the facility on April 17, 2021and never returned. The reporting person stated that this was not like him to do, and they were worried about his well-being due to his drug and alcohol addiction, heart problems, and blindness in one eye. He was entered into records as missing/endangered. 

Theft

W Commercial Blvd

On April 15, BSO received a call of a stolen vehicle tag from a parked white Kia Accent. The victim noticed the tag missing when she decided to move the vehicle. Tot. Est. Loss: $270. 

Arrests

Fernandez Astacio, Jesus Emmanuelle (W M, 28) was arrested on charges of Aggravated Battery at 5815 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 04/15/2021. 

Ponder, Rodrick Demond (B M, 25) was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery By Strangulation-dating Relation at NW 96th Ter, Tamarac, on 04/16/2021. 

Ramkellawan, Vinda (B M, 36) was arrested on DUI charges at 5325 N State Road 7, Tamarac, on 04/16/2021. 

Luarca, Alex Enrique (W M 21) was arrested on DUI Alcohol or Drugs 1st offense charges at 4700 W Commercial Blvd on 4/18/2021.
