The Tamarac District of the Broward Sheriff’s Office offered an evening of fun at this year’s 30th Annual National Night Out. Unfortunately, the evening was cut short due to the rain.
No, it wasn’t coming from city Commissioner Patte Atkins-Grad, who hurled a water bottle at a resident she disliked and yelled at his family, according to the police report. Despite the commissioner’s bad behavior, the evening was a chance for residents not to follow in her footsteps and to have had an enjoyable time while meeting the men and women who protect us.
BSO in Tamarac provided refreshments, a petting zoo, pony rides, a rock-climbing wall, Oopsy the Clown, face painting by Commissioner Pam Bushnell, and music By D.J. Phantom Dragon, as well as free raffle prizes.
The 30th annual National Night Out was an opportunity for communities across the nation to participate in various events and activities in their neighborhoods while promoting law enforcement-community partnerships, crime prevention, and neighborhood unity.
