Time to put on those running shoes because the 38th annual Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K run is just around the corner.
All ages can participate, and trophies will be given to the first three finishers based on Gun Time as well as to first place age group winners. Awards will be also be awarded to second and third place age group winners. Age group winners based on Net Time and awards will be presented at Tamarac City Hall after the race.
The run starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, November 22, and Special Events Coordinator Melissa Petron recommends registrants plan to arrive early to have enough time to find parking and get to the start line. She also said that strollers are allowed, but they do discourage pets on the race course.
Commemorative T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 1,800 runners that pick up their packets. T-shirts are not guaranteed on Race Day.

Late registration (Nov 10th – Nov 21st): $30
Race Day Registration (Nov 22nd): $50 – closes at 7:00 a.m. sharp.
Register on-line at www.active.com. Online registration closes at 2:00 p.m. on November 21. Participants who register on Wednesday, November 21 can pick up their packets on Race Day.

Please arrive early as roads start to close at 6:45am. Parking will be available at City Hall until 6:45am or until lot is full. Additional parking is available south of City Hall in the shopping plaza on the corner of McNab Rd. and Pine Island Rd (NW 88th Ave). A shuttle bus will be available from the shopping plaza by Dairy Queen.
Course is flat and fast with many corners through the Woodmont area of Tamarac. Race starts at 77th St. on Pine Island Road, east on 75th, north on 80th, loops back to Pine Island Road, then south to finish line at City Hall.
