Counterfeit Purses

Broward Sheriff’s Office in Tamarac may have saved hundreds of local women from receiving counterfeit purses as gifts, by arresting a woman who was hoarding them in her home to sell over the holidays.

Rajwante Rambharat, 55, was arrested on a warrant by the BSO Tamarac Crime Suppression Team on Wednesday night for stockpiling over 500 counterfeit items which were manufactured in China, to allegedly sell at the Swap Shop over the holidays.  These included knock-offs of Coach, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermes, Salvatore, Chanel, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, and Prada.

BSO estimated that the items had a retail value of $275,000.  According to Public Information Officer Gina Carter, Rambharat had been arrested for the same crime prior to last night and may be part of a larger network.

Hats off to the Tamarac BSO Crime Suppression Team for saving Broward County women from the likes of people like Rambharat, and from receiving a counterfeit purse this year.

Women everywhere rejoice!
