Ticket Alert: Bobby Brooks Wilson Celebrates the Music of His Legendary Father

Talk about music being in your DNA. Bobby Brooks Wilson built a career performing Jackie Wilson’s songs before discovering the incredible truth: the legendary “Mr. Excitement” was his biological father.

Today, Wilson brings that family legacy to the stage with a lively mix of soul, R&B, Motown, and the music that made his father a star.

His repertoire includes Jackie Wilson classics like “Lonely Teardrops,” “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher,” and “I Get the Sweetest Feeling,” along with music of Sam Cooke, Little Richard, and Stevie Wonder. Wilson also recorded his own version of “I Get the Sweetest Feeling,” and the single reached the national Adult Contemporary Top 40 in 2013.

Held on Saturday, September 5, at 8 p.m., the show is $25 for Kings Point residents and $30 for guests, with tickets available online and at the venue’s box office before and on the night of the concert.

The box office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, and 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays. On Saturdays, tickets can be purchased at the Clubhouse from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and at the Palace from 7 to 8:15 p.m.

As a reminder, shorts are not permitted in the theater. All attendees must be 18 years or older for all shows. Kings Point Palace is open to the public.
