UPDATE: Local Candidate for U.S. Congress Calls Daughter’s Ex “Faggot”

By: Sharon Aron Baron

Candidate for U.S. Congress District 20, and former heavyweight boxer Jameel McCline, had an altercation with his daughter’s boyfriend where he lost his cool and names were thrown around in front of police. The incident took place at McCline’s home in Delray Beach which our source first told us about in July, and since then, we’ve been waiting for the video to be released.

Known as Jameel “Big Time” McCline, the heavyweight boxer retired two years ago. Prior to his professional boxing career, he spent five years in prison for gun running. McCline is currently running for the congressional seat that is now occupied by Alcee Hastings.   District 20 contains portions of Broward, Palm Beach, and Hendry Counties, and includes parts of Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise, Tamarac, Lauderdale Lakes and Lauderhill.

Here’s what happened: On July 19, Delray police were called to McCline’s home while Leonard Moore, 19, along with his mother, were trying to gather his belongings after Moore lived in his home for over a month.   Moore and McCline’s daughter, Brianna had just broken up, and McCline is shown on the video angry about being disrespected after the time and money that he spent on Moore. Moore’s mother is filming the scene and trying to get her son to stay in the car while gathering his things.

“The boy is disrespectful,” says McCline. “I give him a house, a phone, I give him clothes, money, I got him to school, I take care of his teeth….I put $3,500 in your fucking mouth,” he yells.

He points to Moore’s mother and yells, “What did you do? You want to film me? You’re a drunk. That’s why your boy acts the way he acts. I helped you so much and you showed me nothing but disrespect!”

He continues while pacing up and down his driveway yelling at Moore, who’s sitting in the car, “You’re a nobody.” Meanwhile his daughter throws Moore’s clothes, who she said her father bought for him, out of the second story window.

Moore wants to get out of the car, but McCline says, “If you come on my property, I’m going to knock you out.”

Later when Moore does speak out from inside the car, McCline yells, “Dude I just pushed you.  You can’t take a push? You can’t take a push? So what, you faggot!”

The daughter comes out and throws an unidentifiable object to the curb, while McCline says quietly to her seconds before, “Don’t throw it. Don’t throw it.”

In the last moments of the video, the mother asks for his birth certificate back which isn’t clear if they got it back when the video ends.

In a statement to Tamarac Talk today, McCline says, “I recently mentored a young man who dated my daughter. I hired him a trainer, bought his mother an SUV, paid for dental work, and brought him into my home. He in turn disrespected my daughter. My paternal instincts to protect my daughter kicked in, and in the heat of the moment, I used very regrettable language that do not reflect my views. The language is beneath me and the office I seek.”
