Volunteers can help pack 101,088 meals during a two-day event in Tamarac commemorating World Food Day.
Food For The Poor is partnering with Feed My Starving Children and Community Christian Church to host the meal-packing event Oct. 16-17 at the church, 10001 W. Commercial Blvd.
Organizers are seeking volunteers to fill four two-hour shifts. On Friday, Oct. 16, volunteers can participate from 1 to 3 p.m. or 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, shifts run from 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m.
The event gives community members a chance to work together toward the meal-packing goal, and organizers encourage residents to volunteer and spread the word.
To register, participants must create an account through the volunteer registration page and sign up for an available shift.
